I know that full names that traditionally nickname to [name_f]Nell[/name_f]/[name_f]Nellie[/name_f] include [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Helen[/name_f], etc., but I’m not a huge fan of any of these. One of my favorite names if [name_f]Fenella[/name_f]/[name_f]Finella[/name_f], but I’m not sure if this would be hard to wear in the U.S. Thoughts?
I accidentally posted this in the boys thread, so I’m sorry if you already saw it.
My mind went to [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] first. But I like the previous poster’s suggestion of [name_f]Annelise[/name_f]/a too. [name_f]Janelle[/name_f] would also work.
Although more of a stretch, you might be able to get away with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or or [name_f]Helen[/name_f].
I actually like [name_f]Finella[/name_f]. But why not just go with [name_f]Nell[/name_f] as a first name (nn [name_f]Nellie[/name_f]). Lots of people use nicknamey firsts these days and I think [name_f]Nell[/name_f] would work well on a child and still sound substantive for a grown woman. I love [name_f]Nell[/name_f] as a name in its own right!
