Can you think of any full names for the nickname [name_m]Chance[/name_m]? So far I have [name_m]Charles[/name_m] but thats it. Preferably not a name that begins with a Ch.
[name_m]Clarence[/name_m]
[name_u]Chandler[/name_u]
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Marcel[/name_m]
Maybe a C name with the middle name [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]?
[name_m]Chance[/name_m] is the diminutive form of the names [name_m]Chancellor[/name_m] and [name_m]Chauncy[/name_m] pronounced (chawn-see). They mean chief secretary and fortune or luck respectively. You could use [name_m]Chance[/name_m] as a nickname for other names with the same meaning such as: [name_m]Clark[/name_m], [name_m]Bonaventure[/name_m], [name_m]Fisher[/name_m], [name_m]Venturo[/name_m], [name_m]Gadiel[/name_m], [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Claiborne[/name_m] and [name_m]Benedict[/name_m].
Some of these could work but if that connection is too obscure you could try: [name_m]Richard[/name_m], [name_m]Seamus[/name_m], [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u], [name_m]Terrance[/name_m], [name_m]Horace[/name_m], [name_m]Archibald[/name_m], [name_m]Achilles[/name_m], [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], [name_m]Christian[/name_m], [name_m]Marshal[/name_m], [name_m]Cash[/name_m], Cassias, [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_u]Curtis[/name_u], [name_m]Eustace[/name_m], [name_m]Ignatio[/name_m], [name_m]Maxence[/name_m], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_m]Sanchez[/name_m], [name_m]Beecham[/name_m], [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m], [name_m]Thatcher[/name_m], [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m], [name_m]Melchior[/name_m], [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and [name_m]Rancher[/name_m]. Thoughts?
My first thought was Channing. I love the suggestion of Lawrence!
More options: Lancelot, Sundance, Terrance, Vance, Lancaster, Yancey, Sancho, Michael, Richard, Shane, Shandar, Rochester, Mitchell, Thatcher, Zacharias, Shannan
I think [name_u]Channing[/name_u] sounds like a good pick if I had to choose. Maybe [name_u]Chandler[/name_u]. But most that don’t start with CH feel forced.
But really I like Chanse by itself- though I’m biased as that’s my older brother’s name- the S instead of C makes it feel Western/country rather than hippie and less simply a word name. I’ve known a few growing up and it’s always seemed just fine as a first name without needing to be a nickname for a stronger full first name.
But maybe a C name with middle name [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] might work too?
My parents were going to name my brother (had I had one) [name_m]Chancellor[/name_m] (shahn-sler - best phonetic spelling I can figure out, lol).
I always thought of [name_m]Chance[/name_m] as a full name in itself. There is a very moving piece by [name_f]Laura[/name_f] [name_m]Turner[/name_m] at Medium about naming her son [name_m]Chance[/name_m] after experiencing fertility issues and a difficult birth. I just re-read it because of your post and am tearing up.
