Okay so my fiancé and I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]. I want a full name and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] to be the nickname. [name_f]Ranae[/name_f] will be the nickname after her grandma.
I adore [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] but fiancé says it’s too masculine. We both really like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (pronounced [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-line) but NO ONE in our family or circle of friends likes it
Our first little girl is named [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and we call her [name_u]Izzy[/name_u]. I want something to sound good with that.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
*** [name_f]Ranae[/name_f] is the middle name not nickname
I really like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - and who cares what your family or friends think! It’s your baby. ([name_m]Don[/name_m]'t ask for advice on names from your family or friends, disappointment is inevitable, whatever the name!)
There’s also:
[name_f]Emanuella[/name_f]/[name_f]Emanuelle[/name_f]
[name_u]Ember[/name_u]
[name_f]Emelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Emelita[/name_f]
[name_f]Emerald[/name_f]
[name_f]Emerie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emersyn[/name_f] (alternative to [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]?)
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Emiliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] (although I guess you’ve considered this?)
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmaliese[/name_f]
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u]
[name_f]Emogen[/name_f]/[name_f]Emogene[/name_f]
So here are some that don’t start with the [name_f]Em[/name_f] but do contain it.
[name_f]Anemone[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Demetria[/name_f]
[name_f]Emanuela[/name_f]
[name_f]Euphemia[/name_f]
[name_f]Noemi[/name_f]
[name_f]Temperance[/name_f]
[name_f]Tempest[/name_f]
[name_u]Temple[/name_u]
[name_f]Willemina[/name_f]
[name_f]Yasemin[/name_f]
Why don’t you just keep [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] or [name_f]Emmi[/name_f] or [name_f]Emme[/name_f] as the first name with no “full name”?
Otherwise [name_f]Emelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Emerie[/name_f] would be your best options!
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] & [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] & [name_f]Emmy[/name_f], are so wonderful together.
If you like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], then you should use it. But for some other options:
If [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] is too masculine, you could use [name_u]Emmett[/name_u]. It’s also boyish, but in my opinion less so than [name_u]Emerson[/name_u].
Other options:
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Emira[/name_f]
And otherwise you could use [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] as a name on its own. It worked for [name_u]Shay[/name_u] [name_m]Carl[/name_m]'s daughter, why not for yours?
I love [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]! I’ve heard the pronounced two different ways: [name_f]Em[/name_f]- eh- line and [name_f]Em[/name_f]-eh -lynn so maybe an alternate pronunciation would be better liked? Other options are [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], or [name_f]Gemma[/name_f].
If you’re feeling adventurous you could try something like [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] or [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], which have similar enough sounds to make the nickname work but are less expected than the [name_f]Emily[/name_f]/[name_f]Emma[/name_f]/bunch. Maybe [name_f]Esme[/name_f], but perhaps that’s too similar to make [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] much of a nickname.
There’s also [name_u]Ember[/name_u]/[name_u]Emory[/name_u]/[name_u]Emery[/name_u]/[name_f]Emerald[/name_f]/[name_f]Esmerelda[/name_f] but they have a different feel than [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] so I don’t know if you’d like them.
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is my favorite, but after that, I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] the best.
Good luck!
I like [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] as a standalone nickname. [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] is a girls name to me, but prefer [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] (which I pronounce [name_f]Emma[/name_f]-leen).
[name_f]Emelyn[/name_f] is cute also, or how about [name_f]Emerie[/name_f]?
I think [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] go great, who cares if other people don’t like it? They’ll warm up to it and if you both love it, go for it. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is my favourite [name_f]Em[/name_f]- name.
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is such a lovely sibset and [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] are the cutest nicknames. There’s always going to be someone who doesn’t like the name you pick but as long as you both love it and it works for you, then go for it - she’s your little girl:)
If not, I think [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is a lovely pairing too.
I think [name_f]Emmaline[/name_f] is a great name! Different from the popular [name_f]Emmalynn[/name_f]. I also love [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]. I know a little girl named [name_u]Adley[/name_u] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u].
By the way, [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] is so cute as sisters.
I think [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ranae[/name_f] nn. [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] is perfect with big sister [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] nn. [name_u]Izzy[/name_u]. Absolutely perfect. Would your family still have an issue with it if they always call her [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] anyway? (and is that a deal-breaker for you?)
Everyone we told hated the name [name_u]Finn[/name_u] before he was born. I have zero regrets about using it and nobody has criticized it after he was born. So if you love [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] and think that [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] is the best way to get there, I would use it regardless of what anyone else thinks. But that’s only my opinion of course.
I’ve got to agree with the majority of comments, [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] fits perfectly and is such a beautiful name!
There are a handful I like also:
[name_f]Esmerelda[/name_f] & [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] - share the second letter & feel like a pair.
[name_f]Esmerelda[/name_f] [name_f]Renae[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilla[/name_f] & [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] share double ll’s as does [name_f]Emmanuella[/name_f].
[name_f]Emilla[/name_f] [name_f]Ranae[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmanuella[/name_f] [name_f]Ranae[/name_f]
Going a bit ‘out there’, you could have an unexpected full name for [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] with [name_f]Empress[/name_f]??
I like [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Esmerelda[/name_f] & [name_f]Emmanuella[/name_f].
Perhaps think about:
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Jemmimah[/name_f] ([name_f]Jemima[/name_f])
I agree, I think [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Ranae[/name_f] is beautiful!
