I love the name [name]Jett[/name]. He would be named after my grandmother, her name is [name]Jetta[/name]. My husband doesn’t like 1 syllable names, so I am looking for an alternative that would honor my grandmother, and would work well with the nn [name]Jett[/name]. ANY IDEAS???
All I can think of is [name]Jetter[/name] and [name]Jetson[/name]. Another option you have is giving him the initials of [name]JET[/name] (T) Like [name]James[/name] [name]Edward[/name] [name]Thomas[/name] or [name]Jared[/name] [name]Edwin[/name] [name]Theodore[/name].
[name]Jethro[/name]?
It’s a bit of a stretch, but what about [name]Jesse[/name]?
Also love the initials idea and it gives you lots of room to find a name you love.
What about [name]Jedediah[/name]? I think you could get away with it–it’s not far from [name]Jed[/name] to [name]Jett[/name].
I like the idea of using the initials, the only problem is we want to use my father-in-laws name as the middle name. His name is [name]William[/name].
I thought about [name]Jethro[/name], but I can’t seem to say it without adding [name]Tull[/name] after it. [name]Jedediah[/name] could work in theory, but too biblical for my taste. I also thought about [name]Jetson[/name], but I keep thinking of the Jetsons.
I gave up on the name for awhile, because of this issue, but I thought I would see what all you smart folks could come up with, before I hang it up for good.
Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated, I really love this name.
[name]Jetty[/name]/[name]Jettie[/name]
If you’re calling him [name]Jett[/name], I wouldn’t worry so much about using something like [name]Jethro[/name] or Jettson. Besides, kids his age prolly won’t have a clue as to the connotations older people might have with his name. And, even if they do, they aren’t negative connections at all! I think [name]Jethro[/name] [name]William[/name] sounds lovely.
Furthermore, I’m with you on using [name]Jett[/name] by itself! It’s on my list, and [name]Jett[/name] [name]William[/name] sounds awesome. It’s actually a combo I’m considering b/c my DH has jet black hair and my dad’s/granddad’s/ggrandad’s and so-on’s name is [name]William[/name]. Tell your hubby I said get over it…lol…j/k
That said, here are a couple of other options I thought of:
[name]Jetter[/name]
[name]Jeter[/name] (as in [name]Derek[/name] [name]Jeter[/name]-baseball player; pn Jee-ter)
Jester
Jetham
Jettly
Jetman/Jetmon/Jetmond
Like any?
[name]Don[/name]'t give up! It’s such a gorgeous name!
[name]Jethro[/name]! Definitely. People aren’t going to remember [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Tull[/name] forever and [name]Jethro[/name] is such a great name. [name]Jethro[/name] [name]William[/name] is handsome:)
Good [name]Luck[/name]!
- [name]Charlie[/name]
I’ve only known it as girl nn for [name]Juliet[/name]/[name]Juliette[/name]. Sorry, that doesn’t help much!
So I was searching around a little and found [name]Jarett[/name], and we could call him [name]Jett[/name]. Is that too far fetched? I asked my husband and he said “Maybe”. That is better than other reactions he’s given.
I know a [name]Julian[/name] who is shortformed to [name]Jory[/name].
[name]James[/name] are Jims
[name]Richards[/name] are Dicks
[name]Roberts[/name] are Bobs.
I dont think [name]Jarret[/name] is to far stretched to be nn a [name]Jett[/name].
That sounds perfect!!!
I do think [name]Jett[/name] works for [name]Jarrett[/name]. I hope dh goes for it since you love the nn!
I like [name]Jericho[/name] for the nn [name]Jett[/name]
I was thinking about how a [name]Juliet[/name] nn is [name]Jet[/name]/[name]Jett[/name], and I think [name]Julian[/name] sounds like [name]Juliet[/name]. I was trying to find an alternative nn to [name]Jude[/name] for a character I’m creating named [name]Julian[/name], and [name]Jet[/name] seemed like a cool and different option. WDYT? I also like [name]Jarrett[/name], I think that’s stellar!
A friend of ours is Jedrek and we call him [name]Jed[/name] for short. Not sure if Jetrek would be too made up or if Jedrek could could be [name]Jett[/name] for short rather than [name]Jed[/name].
I was just about to recommend [name]Jarett[/name]. I think that’s perfect, then you could also use Rett.
There’s also [name]Jareth[/name].
[name]Jetson[/name].
We have a [name]Jetson[/name] at our daycare, he’s beyond precious. So cute.
You could also do a J first name with a middle name ending in -et. [name]James[/name] [name]Everett[/name] [name]William[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Elliot[/name] [name]William[/name], [name]Jenson[/name] [name]Emmett[/name] [name]William[/name], etc.
