I heard a child say “[name]Ruby[/name]” today on TV and it sounded so cute - made me consider adding the name on my list. But, I tend to like long names with nickname choices. Is there a full name with the nickname [name]Ruby[/name]?
The only thing that comes to mind is [name]Rubina[/name]/Rubena, not listed on nameberry but I’ve seen it elsewhere as a feminine form of [name]Reuben[/name] (so there’s probably Reubena too).
[name]Roberta[/name], perhaps? Or maybe [name]Rebecca[/name]/[name]Rebekah[/name] - since [name]Ruby[/name] and [name]Rebecca[/name] share an ‘r’ and ‘b’ too.
[name]Rubina[/name], which I’ve heard as both roo-bee-na and roo-by-na. I think there are a couple of possible etymologies.
Something like [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] would be a logical full name for [name]Ruby[/name], too.
I love the idea of something like [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] nn [name]Ruby[/name].
My only thought was [name]Rubina[/name], too. Or maybe a double barrel, like [name]Rue[/name]-[name]Beatrice[/name]? nn [name]Ruby[/name]? Although [name]Rue[/name] is shorter than [name]Ruby[/name]…
[name]Hi[/name] my little girl is called ruby but is christened [name]Rebecca[/name].ruby is a pet name for [name]Rebecca[/name]. She is the 3rd generation in our family to be christened [name]Rebecca[/name] but called ruby:-)

I like the idea of [name]Rebecca[/name] and a double barrel name. [name]Robin[/name] might work, or there’s the similar Ruba.
