Full name for the nn Cara?

For the past couple weeks, I’ve really been in love with the idea of the nn [name]Cara[/name]. It means the same thing as my grandmother’s name ([name]Ruth[/name]), and it’s quite close to my mom’s name ([name]Karen[/name]), so I feel like [name]Cara[/name] could easily honor both women. I love [name]Cara[/name], but I feel like it’s incredibly hard to pair up on its own, and I feel like something on the longer side would fit much better with the longer and flowier names on my list.

I’ve tossed around [name]Caroline[/name] and [name]Carolina[/name], but [name]Carolina[/name] feels a bit exotic for me, and [name]Caroline[/name] is too reminiscent of the vitriolic [name]Caroline[/name] Bingley for me. It’s a nice name, but I just can’t get past her (although I love P&P!). Are there any other ways to get to [name]Cara[/name]? I’ve thought about [name]Carys[/name], but honestly I’m not a fan at all. Is there something I’m missing?

Thanks, ladies!

how about

[name]Carina[/name]
[name]Catalina[/name]
[name]Carmen[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Catriona[/name]
[name]Clarissa[/name]
[name]Ceridwen[/name] (i read somewhere about a woman who named her DD [name]Ceridwen[/name] [name]Ramona[/name] and called her [name]Cara[/name] but i dont know if it works)
[name]Carson[/name]
[name]Carly[/name]

Some suggestions:
[name]Carmen[/name]
[name]Carina[/name]
[name]Carissa[/name]
[name]Carmela[/name]
[name]Carola[/name]

A super-search also yielded [name]Carilla[/name], but I couldn’t find any history on that so not sure if it’s a recently made-up name.

What about just ‘[name]Cara[/name]’?

But I honestly adore [name]Caroline[/name] and I think [name]Cara[/name] works as a really sweet nickname for [name]Caroline[/name]. [name]Caroline[/name] is a stunning choice, she has this rural southern-feel that is just so cool and wholesome. [name]Caroline[/name] is a great choice. I also think that this name is really pretty, she just works. I also don’t think [name]Caroline[/name] conjures any negative connotations she’s just feels like a beautiful classic. [name]Caroline[/name] is brilliant.

I like [name]Caroline[/name] or [name]Carys[/name]

I think [name]Cara[/name] works as a full name on its own. [name]Just[/name] because it’s a short name doesn’t mean is has to be short for something else.

Well, you know I would suggest [name]Caroline[/name] My mother is also named [name]Karen[/name]!! [name]Cara[/name] is a sweet nick name for [name]Caroline[/name], but I also really like [name]Cara[/name] on it’s own.

Personally, I agree that [name]Cara[/name] is perfectly lovely on its own. I really like it. I think previous posters have covered most full name possibilities, so I’ll just suggest [name]Chiara[/name].

I can’t think of any others than those mentioned, but what about the name [name]Clara[/name]? Similar to [name]Cara[/name], but feels more complete.

I do think [name]Cara[/name] is lovely on its own–but as I stated in the OP, I find [name]Cara[/name] incredibly hard to pair up, and I feel like it’s really short compared to my other favorites. Which is why I’m looking for a fuller name. If I can’t find anything I like as much as [name]Cara[/name], I’d probably opt for just [name]Cara[/name], but I’d much prefer to find a fuller name.

I do think [name]Caroline[/name] is lovely–I’ve just found that lately I can’t separate it from [name]Caroline[/name] Bingley, and that’s not really the association I want for my wonderful little girl.

I think [name]Cara[/name] would be a nice nickname for [name]Carissa[/name].

I love [name]Cara[/name] for [name]Carlotta[/name] (and have indeed settled on either [name]Cara[/name] or [name]Calla[/name] for a nickname for [name]Carlotta[/name] myself), but can’t think of any more - good luck!

[name]One[/name] more vote for [name]Cara[/name] on its own. You can pair it with a long, beautiful middle!
