Full name for Trudy?

I have a daughter named Tabitha Joan (tibby) and I’m expecting another girl. Me and my partner love the name Trudy, which I’m going to assume is a wildly unpopular opinion. We are not brave enough to use it, but it just has this feel about it. Are there some other full names for Trudy other than Gertrude?

Edit: I think we are going to use Trudy as her full name! What middle name would you put with it?

[name_f]Trudy[/name_f] is lovely (and [name_f]Tibby[/name_f] is super cute!!)

Maybe something like [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] Jude/Judith or [name_f]Tamara[/name_f] Jude/Judith nn [name_f]Trudy[/name_f]?

I think Trudy is cute!

Maybe you could get away with Beatrice or Beatrix with the nickname Trudie. It’s a stretch but I could see it working - you could even do a D middle to make it more obvious, like Beatrix Delilah “Trudie”.

Astrid is another one that definitely works, I’ve heard of a couple of Astrids with the nickname Trudie. There’s also Catriona, Victrice and True (you could do True D-middle-name but True on its own would be fine too).

I really like @Greyblue idea of using a “T” first name with [name_u]Jude[/name_u] or [name_f]Judith[/name_f] as a middle name. I think an “r” somewhere within the name would make it seem like less of a stretch (like the suggestion of [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] Jude/ith)

[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_f]Temperance[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_f]Trista[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]

I also think a name with emphasis on a “tr” inside a name could work too.

[name_f]Patricia[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u] (not “tr” but I still think it could work)
[name_f]Katrina[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]

I think my favorite for you is [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. People are already naming their daughters [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] with the nickname [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], so I think [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] could work too. Plus I think [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] would go well with [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f].

I do love [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] on its own though as well!

[name_f]Trudy[/name_f] is ready for a revival, imo! If you want it to be a nickname, here are my suggestions

[name_m]Truett[/name_m]
Ermantrude/Irmantrud
Struana
Trudessa
[name_u]True[/name_u]

You may also like sound alike [name_u]Truly[/name_u]?

You could also do initials T.D., especially if the T name starts with Tr.
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_u]Dove[/name_u]
Trella [name_f]Destiny[/name_f]
[name_f]Trina[/name_f] [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_f]Trinity[/name_f] [name_f]Darla[/name_f]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u] [name_f]Deanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Trixie[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]

[name_f]Trudy[/name_f] is wonderful in its own right. I don’t have anything to add suggestion wise, but I adore it - it’s on my list spelled [name_f]Trudie[/name_f].

[name_f]Trudy[/name_f] is my number 1 favourite name of all time so I’m just here to say: please name her TRUDY!!!

I have heard of Trudence as a name. This may be suitable for a more formal name. trudy would also be okay as a name in its own right. I don;t like [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f] because of [name_f]Gertie[/name_f].

I’m joining others in saying, just use it alone! It’s darling! It’s better by itself, in my opinion, than it ever was as a nickname for [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f].

But if you just can’t, then @Greyblue had the right idea with something like [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] [name_f]Judith[/name_f].

I’m now pretty confident that we are going to name her [name_f]Trudy[/name_f]! [name_m]Just[/name_m] out of interest, what middle names would you put with it?

I’m really glad people have had a good response to it, so I think we are going to use it as her full name! If you have any middle name ideas, please let me know! We want to use [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] as its my MILs name, but [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] sounds a bit clunky

I think Trudy Delores is great! The flow is fine and honour names trump flow IMO. It’s more important that Trudy (last name) flows beautifully.

[name_f]Trudy[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]

I also like [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] [name_f]Dolores[/name_f], but then I love the name [name_f]Dolores[/name_f], who was a beloved family friend.

[name_f]Trudy[/name_f] [name_f]Delores[/name_f] is fabulous  so happy you’ve gone for [name_f]Trudy[/name_f]

There was a semi-recent birth announcement of a Trudy…I want to say [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]? I definitely think [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] can stand alone as a name, and I think I prefer it as I don’t love any of the intuitive longer forms.

I like [name_f]Trudy[/name_f] [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] for you as well😊
