Full name or nickname?

We love the name [name_m]Vinnie[/name_m], does everybody give their child the name [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] or [name_m]Vince[/name_m] and then vinnie is the short name? [name_f]Or[/name_f] is vinnie its own stand alone name?

[name_f]My[/name_f] nephew is called [name_m]Vinny[/name_m], but it’s a nickname for [name_m]Stephen[/name_m]!

[name_m]Vinnie[/name_m] is used regularly as a full name where I am [name_f][/name_f]- it ranks above [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] in the charts :person_shrugging:[name_f][/name_f] I’d say it works as a stand alone, but you could use a long form if you a) actually like either them, b) want your child to have the option of using it

It could also be for [name_m]Alvin[/name_m], although maybe that’s to tied to the chipmunk!

I named them what I’ll call them

[name_f]My[/name_f] personal preference would be a full name with [name_m]Vinny[/name_m] as the nickname! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] feels most obvious but [name_m]Stephen[/name_m] nn [name_m]Vinny[/name_m] is so fun! [name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m], [name_m]Devon[/name_m], [name_m]Marvin[/name_m], [name_m]Gavin[/name_m], [name_m]Irving[/name_m], [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m], [name_m]Vincenzo[/name_m], [name_m]Bonaventure[/name_m], [name_m]Sven[/name_m], etc., are also fun! [name_f][/name_f] Tried to give you a couple different styles since I wasn’t sure what style you like. [name_f][/name_f] All the best!

I think Vinny/Vinnie (maybe y for a boy?) works but I wouldn’t pass up chance to use [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] nn Vinny/Vince. I really love [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], it’s so smart and has a magical, festive sound to it too!
