I have been loving the nn [name]Addy[/name] lately, and I realized that I am in love with a lot of ways to get it! So far, I’ve come up with these–can you think of any others, and which is your favorite? Thanks!
Adalise
[name]Adeline[/name]/[name]Adaline[/name] (how do you say this? I’ve heard add-ah-leen, add-ah-line, and add-ah-lynn…)
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Adele[/name]
[name]Adella[/name] (I know [name]Adela[/name] is the proper/more common spelling for this name, but the [name]Adela[/name]/[name]Adella[/name] I knew spelled it this way and I like this spelling better…)
[name]Ada[/name]
[name]Astrid[/name]
[name]Adelia[/name]
[name]Every[/name] [name]Addy[/name] I know is an [name]Addison[/name] but I figure you don’t like that Lol. [name]Adele[/name] is my favorite way to get it, but I love [name]Ada[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name] too. With [name]Adelaide[/name] you could call her [name]Addy[/name], [name]Adele[/name], [name]Ada[/name], and [name]Laidy[/name] all of which I think are adorable I also know a little girl named [name]Addie[/name], just [name]Addie[/name] so I don’t think it necessarily needs a fuller name to go with
@dillonsfan01 - haha, I actually do like [name]Addison[/name] on a girl in a GPish way! But when I love such unisex names like [name]Bailey[/name], [name]Aubrey[/name], [name]Avery[/name], [name]Harper[/name], etc., for a boy (consequently, I also [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Addison[/name] for a boy…), I think [name]Addison[/name] would just feel so out of place if I used it for a girl! Can you imagine being an [name]Addison[/name] with a brother named [name]Bailey[/name] and two sisters named [name]Isabelle[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] or whatever? I think I would feel so cheated, haha. I have grown to like [name]Adelaide[/name] quite a bit but I used to hate it, lol, so I don’t know if I’m ready to use it just yet. Slowly, it’s growing on me, though, so one day I might use it. I don’t think I could ever just use [name]Addie[/name], though–I met a full grown woman with the name [name]Addie[/name], just [name]Addie[/name], no nn, and she HATED it, said it was way too nicknamey… of course, she was a name expert on another baby name site, so she probably had a lot higher aspirations for her name, lol.
@east93 - Most of those are a bit too out there for me, haha! I do kind of like [name]Adamina[/name] (add-ah-MEE-nah?), but I like just [name]Ada[/name]/[name]Adah[/name] or Adalise more, I think…
I was going to suggest [name]Adelyn[/name] as well. I think it is adorable I really like [name]Ada[/name] too. [name]Addy[/name]/[name]Addie[/name] is such a cute NN!
[name]Adelyn[/name]… it sounds cute, but it’s not really my thing. In reality, I much prefer [name]Madeleine[/name]. Which, I guess I could use [name]Addy[/name] as a nn for that instead of [name]Maddie[/name], but I think people would give me weird looks, haha. And I can’t really imagine using [name]Madeleine[/name] as a FN…
I’m not in a huge hurry to add an [name]Addy[/name] name to my list yet, but I’m still entertaining the idea of [name]Adele[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], and Adalise… I think I prefer [name]Adelaide[/name] the most out of them all–it just suits what I’m looking for–but [name]Adele[/name] is still a quite serious contender. Yet, I’m not sure I love any of them enough to add them to my short list so I guess I’ll just let it sit for a while. I’m also tossing around a few other new options so we’ll see where my list ends up in a while, hehe.
I know of a little girl named [name]Adair[/name], her middle name starts with “[name]Lu[/name]” (can’t remember if it’s [name]Luciana[/name], [name]Lucia[/name], or something else) and they call her [name]Addie[/name] [name]Lu[/name], which I think is adorable!
