Full names for Lola?

I’ve been super crushing on [name_f]Lola[/name_f] right now (most of my favorites come back around with time!), but I’ve never just liked [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a full name on her own. Can you think of any really great names to get to [name_f]Lola[/name_f]?

The only one I’ve thought of so far is [name_f]Eliora[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f], but I am pretty sure that’s too far of a leap, even for my brain. I’m mildly entertaining the idea of [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f], but I’m not sure I can see me loving [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] or [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] enough to move either one of them up to the fn position.

Thanks, Berries!

I’ve been thinking of [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] lately, or maybe [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]?

[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] or [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]? Very stretched but I love the idea.

Based on the book [name_f]Lolita[/name_f] it can be a short form of [name_f]Dolores[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Lola[/name_f], both the name and the song. I like the suggested idea of [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] “[name_f]Lola[/name_f]”, but I also like [name_m]Nolly[/name_m] for [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f].
[name_f]Lorelai[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Lourdes[/name_f]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]

I love the idea of [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f]! I hadn’t thought of that. They are both two names that make me smile. I’ve always really liked [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]/[name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] and [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f].

I love it for [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], or even [name_f]Romola[/name_f]?

I think any name with the letter combination -lo- somewhere work for [name_f]Lola[/name_f]. Some work even if the letters are far apart as well, like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f].
My favourites mentioned so far would be those two, plus [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f].
Others:
[name_f]Apolline[/name_f] / [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f]
Aloïsa
[name_f]Clothilde[/name_f]
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannelore[/name_f]
[name_f]Heloise[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorenza[/name_f]
[name_f]Loretta[/name_f]
[name_f]Philomel[/name_f]
[name_f]Salome[/name_f]
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u]

Thanks, everyone! If I can get [name_f]Lola[/name_f] from [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], then I surely could get it from [name_f]Eliora[/name_f], no?

I like [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] a lot, but, for personal reasons, if I used it, it would be with the nn [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] (of course, these things can’t be totally predicted, but I would have every intention of aiming for [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] over [name_f]Lola[/name_f]). [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] or [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] might be real options–I had been massively crushing on [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] a while back, but figured I’d use [name_u]Lou[/name_u] or [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] as the nn. For personal reasons I prefer [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f] over [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], but both are really nice. I’ve also been liking [name_f]Willow[/name_f] lately, but more for a mn than anything else.

[name_f]Loretta[/name_f] has sort of been a GP, but I’ve always thought I’d use the nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]. Which is why I haven’t just switched the nn for [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] again–I just love [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] so much!

Would [name_f]Violet[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] be completely out of the question?

I think the others are pretty much just nms.

[name_m]Ah[/name_m], and @millia, I think it was? That suggested [name_f]Elodie[/name_f]? I like the name a lot, but I gave it to my clunker lemon of a car, and I’m just not ready to put Élodie back on my list. That name almost feels cursed. lol

If you’re not set on using [name_f]Lottie[/name_f], what about [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f]? I like the PPs’ suggestion of [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] too. It definitely works for [name_f]Eliora[/name_f], but I can’t quite see it for [name_f]Violet[/name_f], sorry.

[name_f]Lola[/name_f] is the traditional nickname for [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] in Spanish-speaking countries and community. I would consider [name_f]Lourdes[/name_f] as a second option, but only if you are particularly religious or Catholic. I think [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] is a wonderful suggestion, but I also think that a lot of L names like [name_f]Laura[/name_f], [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] could have it as a nickname.

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]
[name_f]Soleil[/name_f] - maybe a stretch
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]

I have an aunt [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and her given name is [name_f]Dolores[/name_f]. Most [name_f]Lola[/name_f]'s are [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] in Spanish speaking countries like lailanotlilah had already mentioned.

But I also happen to have an aunt by marriage, who goes by [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and her given name is actually [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].

Fun fact I forgot to mention: that aunt by marriage who goes by [name_f]Lola[/name_f] has a daughter who’s actual middle name is [name_f]Lolita[/name_f].
