I was recently reading over a post of mine for the thread about nn’s to proper names as an adult, and I was reading the name [name]Ellie[/name] a few times, and it quickly grew on me! The only thing is that I don’t think it would work as a full name just on it’s own. And I don’t like most of the traditional nn’s:
[name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
etc.
So does anyone have ideas for a way to get to [name]Ellie[/name]? Thanks!
[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Ellie[/name] could be a nn for [name]Graciella[/name]? I know some people suggested names like [name]Gabrielle[/name] and [name]Isabelle[/name], so I was just wondering!
My friend is [name]Noel[/name] but everybody calls her [name]Ellie[/name]. Her mn is [name]Allison[/name], so she is [name]Noel[/name] “[name]Ellie[/name]” [name]Allison[/name].
My first thought was [name]Elora[/name], so I’m glad you like that one! It sounds feminine and elegant without being too frilly or out-there - perfection!
Another thought was [name]Elspeth[/name], but perhaps [name]Elsie[/name] or [name]Elsa[/name] would be better nicknames for her…
Yes, I think [name]Ellie[/name] could work for [name]Graciela[/name] - I like one L - but people will expect her to be [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Elisabeth[/name] or something, whereas they’ll think of [name]Gracie[/name] for [name]Graciela[/name]. Still works, though!
