Full names for Plum?

I’ve kind of fallen in love with [name_f]Plum[/name_f] recently, but I don’t think it works as a full name. What would you use [name_f]Plum[/name_f] as a nickname for?

[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Patience[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f]
[name_f]Pandora[/name_f]

Truthfully, I think any “P” name would work, and I threw in [name_f]Clara[/name_f] because of the Nutcracker reference.

I’d go for [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] for a name that can be shortened to [name_f]Plum[/name_f].

Other than that, opt for a species or brand of [name_f]Plum[/name_f] like [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

Thanks! I like the suggestions of [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. Maybe a P name with an M middle would work better though?

Plumeria! A beautiful flower. Though it’s pronounced plume-eria, not plum-eria, I think the nickname is still pretty self-explanatory!

Plumeria was my first thought too. I think you could also do a last name as a first though and use [name_f]Plum[/name_f] as a nn-- [name_m]Thompson[/name_m], Plimpton, etc.

I love the suggestion of [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], as well as the P first name paired with an M middle. I think you can’t go wrong with [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]!

A few suggestions:
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] “[name_f]Plum[/name_f]”
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] “[name_f]Plum[/name_f]”
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Manon[/name_f] “[name_f]Plum[/name_f]”
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] “[name_f]Plum[/name_f]”
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] [name_f]Maud[/name_f] “[name_f]Plum[/name_f]”
[name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] “[name_f]Plum[/name_f]”

Or any combination of these names!

Someone in the [name_u]December[/name_u] birth announcements had a [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] nn [name_f]Plum[/name_f] (which I thought was lovely) because of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] in the Nutcracker and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] plums. To that effect, you could choose any two names with plum associations and use the to get to the nickname. [name_f]Pomona[/name_f] could also lead to [name_f]Plum[/name_f], but means apple, which might be confusing…

I’d never heard of Plumeria before, what beautiful flowers! [name_u]Love[/name_u] the idea of [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Manon[/name_f] too.

I really like [name_f]Pomona[/name_f], didn’t know it was an apple!

My honest but probably unpopular opinion:

I think [name_f]Plum[/name_f] sounds so sweet and affectionate on it’s own, that regardless of what your daughter’s actual name is, [name_f]Plum[/name_f] can stand in as a monkier.

I wouldn’t think twice about it to hear that a little girl who is known as ‘[name_f]Plum[/name_f]’ actually has a legal name of [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Laya[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], or [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f].

Enjoy your little [name_f]Plum[/name_f]

I second @flamingo.

I completely agree with you, @flamingo, but I like the idea that it has some tie to the name too.
