Full names for Sunny?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]!

So, I know to a lot of berries it doesn’t make sense to start with a nickname, but I just really love the name [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] - as a nickname. Obviously I wouldn’t use a name that I don’t like just to get [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], but I’m currently stuck on finding a full name. I though [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] nn [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] would be cute - I love [name_f]Soleil[/name_f], but that wouldn’t make sense to a lot of people ([name_f]Soleil[/name_f] is sun in [name_m]French[/name_m]).

So, any suggestions? Thanks!

[name_f]Sunniva[/name_f] or [name_f]Sunshine[/name_f].

Sunisa is a Thai name that would work. You could also use a name ending in -son like [name_u]Addison[/name_u], [name_u]Madison[/name_u], [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], etc. [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] nn [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] isn’t that far a stretch I think.

[name_f]Soleil[/name_f] ‘[name_u]Sunny[/name_u]’ makes sense to me, but then again, I like nicknames that aren’t plainly obvious. [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] is lovely, and [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] would work well to give [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] (which the majority of people here would never pronounce correctly) an ‘easier’ name to use if need be.

Though I adore [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f], I definitely advise against considering it as full name for [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]…it’s pronounced SOO-nih-vah, so giving it the nickname of [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] would have people use (what most would automatically say regardless) the [name_f]SUN[/name_f]-ih-vah pronunciation (son-of-a…) and you’d never have a chance of getting them to say it correctly then.

I think [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] would work with [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] as nickname (yeah, it has the SOO type deal going on too, but [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] would never be said SUSS-ann-ah here…well, at least, rarely, lol), and it seems to be the only one that would be closest to fitting your style I would think. [name_f]Summer[/name_f] ‘[name_u]Sunny[/name_u]’ would also work in my opinion.

I know… it’s so hippie but I can’t help myself… Sunflower

I think [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] works just fine! [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] is one of my top girl names and I always figured if I use it, [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] will be the nickname. I see the sun part coming more from the -sanna part of the name, because that’s where the S-N part is, and what’s the harm in changing one teensy tiny vowel sound? So with that (possibly convulted) logic, it could work for [name_f]Susan[/name_f] as well. Actually, maybe even better for [name_f]Susan[/name_f], because when I say [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] it’s “san” as in “sand,” but in [name_f]Susan[/name_f] the “san” ends up sounding almost like “sun.”

Sunita? I’m pretty sure it’s a Sanskrit name and it’s really cute!
Also I’ve heard as [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] being a nn for [name_f]Savannah[/name_f] which is cute too.

I really love [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] nn [name_u]Sunny[/name_u].

I like [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] as full names for [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]. I also went to school with a girl whose full name was just [name_u]Sunny[/name_u].

My first thought was [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] nn [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]… But I do love “[name_m]Sol[/name_m]” as a nn for [name_f]Soleil[/name_f]… It is one of my favorites but [name_f]Soleil[/name_f]-[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] makes sense to me

[name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is the baby in A Series of Unfortunate Events. I think once a name is used in a book it’s a classic and fine as a full name! Also, [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] is a ‘real’ full name in [name_f]India[/name_f], though I’m not sure if it’s spelt [name_u]Sunny[/name_u] or Suni or some other way.

Sunilda is the only one I can think of to add to the growing list. I like [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] nn [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]
[name_f]Sancia[/name_f], [name_f]Sonia[/name_f], [name_f]Sanaa[/name_f] and [name_f]Sandrine[/name_f] might also work.
Sunna is an Icelandic name which is quite sweet

Really stretching it you could use [name_f]Melisande[/name_f]/Elysande, [name_f]Corisande[/name_f], Ursinia, [name_f]Isannah[/name_f].

[name_f]Sunniva[/name_f]
[name_f]Summer[/name_f]
[name_f]Sunday[/name_f]

I knew a [name_f]Sondra[/name_f] that went by [name_u]Sunny[/name_u].

Sonrisa is spanish for smile…heard many girls with that are named this that go by the nn [name_u]Sunny[/name_u].

[name_f]Sunshine[/name_f]
[name_f]Sunday[/name_f]
Sunjai ([name_f]Sun[/name_f] jay)
Soneva ([name_f]Sun[/name_f] neevah)
Sunia ([name_f]Sun[/name_f] eeya)

I really like the idea of [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] nn [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]. (But I’m billingual in English and [name_m]French[/name_m]). I think you could use any name that starts with [name_f]Sun[/name_f] or [name_f]Su[/name_f] and contains an N.
My first thoughts were [name_f]Sonya[/name_f] or [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Sonya[/name_f].

Thank you everyone! Going to sort through all of your lovely suggestions very shortly - thanks so much!
