Full names for winnie 🍯

hi all!

i love winnie and all her longer forms. i have winifred, winona, winslet, winter, winry and winika all on my list, as well as winnie just on it’s own.

i was wondering, are there any other names that offer sweet winnie as a nickname, apart from the ones listed above?

bonus question: if you had to name your daughter a longer form of winnie, what would you go for and why?

[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is my favourite!!! It is one of my top names at the moment, and I like the idea of using the nickname “Winnie” with it!

Really any of the names than end in “wyn/ wen” could work - I also like [name_f]Rhoswen[/name_f], [name_f]Liliwen[/name_f]

Then there the names that start with [name_u]Win[/name_u]. Some I like are: [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], [name_f]Winslet[/name_f], [name_f]Winola[/name_f], [name_u]Winslow[/name_u], [name_u]Winter[/name_u], Winnipeg

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is so cute!

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] is nice, however (I think) I prefer it used in the middle name spot.

From your list my favourite is [name_f]Winslet[/name_f]. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I don’t really have any other names to add.
But one thing I noticed with previous posts is that most of the suggestions that don’t start with [name_u]Win[/name_u] end in wen, wyn and although that is a totally exceptable way of getting to the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], it wouldn’t be my first thought. So for example for the name [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], you could spell it Elowin.

It’s stretchy perhaps but I like [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Waveney[/name_f] :brown_heart: :ribbon:

I have a [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] whose full name is [name_f]Winry[/name_f], we chose it because I loved [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Winry[/name_f] was from one of my husband favorite shows growing up.
However we searched high and low to find a long form that both my husband and i could agree on (I was really routing for [name_u]Winslow[/name_u] but my husband hated it) and accumulated quite a list.
You’ve already got most of the ones we had on our lists as suggestions so here’s a few of the more unique ones (sorry if there are repeats)

Wineva
Winnimere
Winoa
[name_f]Winola[/name_f]
Winora
Winsy
Winsley
Winsol

Browen/Bronwyn in my favourite. You could also just go with Winn/Wynn too. But I prefer a longer version of the name.

I love [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] too! [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite name that can be a full name for [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] (and a strong name contender when the time comes) is [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]. It may be a little less intuitive than some, but I think just as [name_m]Bill[/name_m] can be a nickname for [name_u]William[/name_u], one can easily go from [name_u]Vinnie[/name_u] (which might be a more common nickname for Lavinia) to [name_f]Winnie[/name_f].

In that vein, really any name that has “vin” or even “ven” in it could produce the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]. So that includes names such as…

  • [name_f]Alvina[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Corvina[/name_f]
  • [name_u]Haven[/name_u]
  • [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Malvina[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Olivine[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Ravenna[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Sylvine[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Venetia[/name_f]
