So, [name]Griffin[/name] and [name]Spencer[/name] recently started baseball. As I talked to my fellow baseball mommies, I found some very odd sibling names. Some are great, imo, like [name]Henry[/name]'s parents who also have an older daughter named [name]Sarah[/name] and a younger son named [name]James[/name]. All three names are classic and seem timeless. Though there were some others that weren’t so great. Like the twins on the team named [name]Teagan[/name] and [name]Keagan[/name] who have a younger sister, [name]Meagan[/name]. I’m not sure which bothers me more about these together: the fact that all three of them end in eagan, or that they need a [name]Reagan[/name] to complete the group in my mind (if it was me, but I assure you I would never do this, but if I found myself the mother of a [name]Keagan[/name], [name]Teagan[/name], and [name]Meagan[/name], I’d have to have one more and name her [name]Reagan[/name]. But with my luck I’d end up with a boy and I’d have to name it something else, hmmmm, yet another reason not to attempt this). Then there are a couple that I thought were cute. Like [name]Cooper[/name] and his younger sister, [name]Piper[/name]. That was the first [name]Piper[/name] I had ever met. She had red has red hair and is as cute as can be, so I think I like that name even more now.
Here are a couple other families that have wierd sibling names:
Twin girls named [name]Edith[/name] and [name]MacKenzie[/name].
[name]Dylan[/name] and [name]Rylan[/name] (both boys)
[name]Meagan[/name], [name]Teagan[/name], and [name]Keagan[/name]? Are you serious?
I have a friend who once babysat for siblings named [name]Annie[/name], [name]Danny[/name] (boy), and [name]Jordana[/name], and I kept waiting for the mom to tell me it was only a joke. [name]Annie[/name] and [name]Danny[/name] rhyme, and [name]Jordana[/name] contains both [name]Dan[/name] and [name]Ann[/name]! I was only a teenager when I learned of this family, but I knew it violated all I held sacred in the wondeful world 'o names.
Well there is triplet girls in my little girls preschool. Their names are Kush, Kriti, and Kripa. My friends cousin named her kids, Hannabel, [name]Harold[/name], and [name]Henry[/name].
I had a friend in college named [name]Connor[/name], the youngest of three boys. His oldest brother’s name is [name]Patrick[/name]… so two good strong Irish names. [name]Both[/name] [name]Connor[/name] and [name]Patrick[/name] went to top tier colleges, majored in business and finance, and did well in school. Their middle brother was named Chrispen and he was a college drop out who played the bongos, wore dreadlocks, and smoked pot. I have always been intrigued as to how their names and personalities seemed to be somewhat related.
I know of friends who have a boy, [name]Adam[/name] [name]Michael[/name], and a girl, [name]Addison[/name] [name]Michelle[/name], nn [name]Addie[/name]. I have always been bothered by this. Another friend has a [name]Jessica[/name], and a [name]Jacob[/name], and then named their baby boy [name]Jesse[/name]. I don’t understand how they could not come up with a different J name.
These aren’t funny siblings. They are more like ultra good taste siblings. I had this friend in high school named Boo but her real name was [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Her parents collected 18th and 19th century American mahogany and cherry furniture, mostly from [name]Virginia[/name] although they lived in [name]California[/name]. Their house was Cape Cod style and it was painted red with white trim. I think that family really influenced me in a lot of my taste in many things. I loved their old blue onion dishes, for example, and now I have an old set of those dishes that’s probably at least as old as the '50’s. Well, they were even ultra classic in their selection of names for their children:
[name]Laura[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Sue[/name]
[name]William[/name] [name]Douglas[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Ann[/name]
When my daughter was really little, I saw Boo’s mom and her sister [name]Mary[/name] at the market. They saw my daughter and asked what her name was (I was no longer in touch with Boo). I told them her name was [name]Laura[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. Their eyes got so big and their mouths dropped open. They said, “Oh that’s like [name]Laura[/name] [name]Lee[/name]! That’s like Boo!” They looked so happy.
At the nursery where my daughter goes there’s a little boy and a little girl called Jaspen and [name_f]Neila[/name_f], pronounced [name_u]Jay[/name_u]-spen and Nay-la. I also know a family who have 4 children all with unusual names [name_f]Indie[/name_f], [name_u]Luca[/name_u], Heti and Their new little girl who is about 3 weeks old now called [name_u]Fable[/name_u]. I think they are quite cute though!
Please tell me [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] and [name_u]Keagan[/name_u]'s sister [name_f]Meagan[/name_f] is pronounced Mee-gan. I don’t love the pronunciation, but if you’re going to match spelling, and the boys names are almost identical, you might as well just commit to the theme 100%, right?
My mom’s boyfriend is named [name_u]Ricky[/name_u]. Not [name_m]Richard[/name_m] or [name_m]Rick[/name_m] but [name_u]Ricky[/name_u]. And his sister’s names are [name_f]Vicky[/name_f] and [name_u]Niki[/name_u]
