So my oldest son and his fiancee shared with me the other day the names they have picked out for their possible future children.

Lilia Maria “Lily”
Castiel Edward “Cas”
Lily and Cas

I am just in love! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Lilia Maria : I know a lot of people don’t like girl names where both the first and middle names end in the “a” sound. But it is one of our traditions/ heritage. Liliana is my great aunt and Maria is my name so it is definitely an honor name. Lilia/ Lily is also my “forever name” that I never got to use with my own children. I know a lot of people will shun Lily bc of “popularity” but when you’ve loved a name for more than 3 decades, um, popularity just doesn’t matter.

Castiel Edward: Orignally they had wanted Gabriel for a boy’s name, my future dil’s name is Gabrielle and my other son’s mn is Gabriel. They thought it would be a great honor name. Well my second son threw a fit bc I guess he wants to name a future son of his own Gabriel. So I casually suggested Castiel, it’s an angel and has similar sound. They LOVED it. Also, the nn Cas also follows a male family tradition of three letter nn’s. Edward is my husband’s mn which is also an honor name for his grandpa.

Anyway, it was fun to hear their ideas. They are a ways off from having kids but I loved their initial thoughts and choices.

Stay tuned for more… I have 5 adult children and no grandbabies yet but we talk alot about possible future names. Hope you liked.

Those are lovely names, lucky you💕

I’m not sure if I’m remembering something incorrectly from when I read up on the characters years ago but isn’t that just an angel on Supernatural rather than from religious texts? :thinking:

I am no religious expert but I believe [name_m]Castiel[/name_m] derives from [name_m]Cassiel[/name_m] which was an “extracanonical” angel. But I do know of the Supernatural character :rofl:

[name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_m]Cas[/name_m] are beautiful :star_struck: I’m going to be so insufferable when the time comes for my children to name children, haha! I’ll have to try and channel your casual attitude.
