This is a new one for me but I heard it somewhere and there is something about that makes me absolutely love it, I think part of it, is as a religious person, the name is a variation of the place where Jesus was born. What are you thoughts on the name, how would you imagine a little girl named this? It is pronounced Gal-ih-LAY-ah.
also any nicknames ideas? I can’t think any on the top of my head.
I’d probably default to [name_f]Gal[/name_f], [name_f]Gali[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f] or [name_f]Lilou[/name_f] for a nickname!
It’s quite a bold name (not in a bad way!) so I kind of imagine it on someone more adventurous and artsy! But at the same time, the sound also has a dramatic elegance. [name_m]Galileo[/name_m] is obviously the first thing that comes to mind so [name_f]Galilea[/name_f] has quite the Renaissance feel to me!
I go to school with a [name_f]Galilea[/name_f]! It is such a stunning name! Her nickname is [name_f]Gali[/name_f] (pronounced like [name_f]Allie[/name_f] with a G.) She wears her name really well.
[name_f]Galilea[/name_f] is very surprising and so interesting! [name_f]My[/name_f] first association is [name_m]Galileo[/name_m] Galilei, the brilliant astronomer, mathematician, physicist and philosopher.
[name_f]Galilea[/name_f], just like [name_m]Galileo[/name_m], makes me think about the universe, the planets and the stars.
I picture [name_f]Galilea[/name_f] as a brave, intelligent, curious and hardworking girl/woman.
As a nickname, I suggest: [name_f]Galia[/name_f], Lilea, [name_f]Lil[/name_f], Lile, Alilea, [name_f]Lila[/name_f], Gaga, [name_f]Gia[/name_f], [name_f]Gea[/name_f] / Geia, Ilea, [name_f]Alea[/name_f] / [name_f]Aleia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lili[/name_f] / Lilee.
I love [name_f]Galilea[/name_f]! It’s one of those unusual, interesting, beautifully unexpected names that has ties to Christianity that I love (feels in the vein of [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Liliana[/name_f], etc., except a bit more unexpected!). I think a lot of people will go to [name_m]Galileo[/name_m] (it is the feminine form) but since it means “from Galilee” I think the [name_m]Christian[/name_m] interpretation is fine. [name_m]Jesus[/name_m] was born in [name_f]Bethlehem[/name_f], but I do love that it has ties to where [name_m]Jesus[/name_m] did the majority of His ministry.
I don’t know that I can see myself with a [name_f]Galilea[/name_f] so I’ve always considered it a middle name choice, but I love it in general. I especially have loved [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Galilea[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] [name_f]Galilea[/name_f] in the past.
I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is my favorite nn for [name_f]Galilea[/name_f] but I think [name_f]Allie[/name_f], [name_f]Lea[/name_f] (like Leia), [name_f]Gilly[/name_f], or maybe even [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] are nice as well. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] could also work.
