Hi there!
We keep thinking we are set and then we have second thoughts. This month we are between these 2 below…. All are family names. We could use Dwaine for a second sons middle but it would be nice if we used for first too…
It’s growing on me! I mostly think [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] [name_m]Dwaine[/name_m] sounds better together but I like [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] better I think vs Andrew…. And the look of [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] [name_m]Dwaine[/name_m] I do like.
When choosing my own kids’ names, I rarely think about how a first name sounds with a middle name. I know a lot of people care about it, but I rarely hear my own first+middle name together and rarely say or hear them for my own kids. I think you’re right that [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] [name_m]Dwaine[/name_m] sounds better than [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] [name_m]Dwaine[/name_m], but if you like [name_m]Gavin[/name_m] better than [name_m]Andrew[/name_m], I say you should go with [name_m]Gavin[/name_m].
Thank you for this! My opinion changes everyday lately on what first name I like too…
I also like Drew as a Nick name for Andrew… the middle name with first combo is something I think about but it’s a good reminder that liking the first name the best is more important
Dwaine is a close family member who has passed so we like the idea of saying the name more but it’s still going to be special just being the middle and not being said everyday.
My husband likes Gavin more this week… we have a couple months luckily!
Thank you for this feedback! I always like a solid timeless name and am more traditional. But, I definitely don’t want a name to feel boring. Sometimes with traditional ones I’ll look into nick names too… what do you think of Andrew if the nick name was Drew or Andy? Still like Gavin better?
@Futuremom1 If you used [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] but used the nicknames [name_m]Andy[/name_m] or [name_m]Drew[/name_m] I’d like it a lot more! I think [name_m]Andy[/name_m] or [name_m]Drew[/name_m] are both more fun and fresh as compared to [name_m]Andrew[/name_m]. In that case, I like [name_m]Andrew[/name_m] better than [name_m]Gavin[/name_m]
