Gavin vs. Evan

What do you prefer between [name]Gavin[/name] and [name]Evan[/name]?

They are both very similar sounding, but while the hubs loves [name]Evan[/name] he isn’t down with [name]Gavin[/name].

What are your opinions?

Our last name ends in “vich” so I think a first name with a “v” to mirror it would sound fantastic.

Personally i prefer [name]Gavin[/name]

[name]Evan[/name] definitely gets my vote, [name]Gavin[/name] is so dated.

Much prefer [name]Evan[/name]. The nickname Gav really throws me.

If you want a V name that’s a bit unusual, have you thought of Evren? It means “cosmos, universe.”

[name]Gavin[/name]! I love, love, love [name]Gavin[/name]. I met an adorable, hilarious little [name]Gavin[/name] at work today, too, which made me appreciate it even more. [name]Evan[/name]'s a nice name, I just love [name]Gavin[/name] more by a mile. I feel like I should love [name]Evan[/name], since it’s the Welsh form of my dad and brother’s name, but I just like [name]Gavin[/name] so much more.

I much prefer [name]Evan[/name], but [name]Gavin[/name] isn’t bad. [name]Evan[/name] seems more classic to me.

Yeah, my husband as the same reasoning…[name]Gavin[/name] seems too trendy to him. I do like the suggestion of [name]Davis[/name], [name]Xavier[/name] and have always wanted to love [name]Vincent[/name], but can’t for some reason. I think it’s because the full name seems so formal and the nicknames “[name]Vince[/name]” and “[name]Vinnie[/name]” I’m not fond of.

I love [name]Gavin[/name], but it is trendy. I’ve also heard it’s like the default “hick” name for boys. Whatever that means. I think it’s fierce!
[name]Evan[/name] is such a gentle name. It’s good-natured sounding to me, like [name]Ben[/name] or [name]Ernest[/name]. I feel it doesn’t have as much strength as [name]Gavin[/name], but it has an easy, elegant sound.

I like [name]Evan[/name] much more than [name]Gavin[/name].

[name]Gavin[/name]. (No particular reason, except that I like it better.)

[name]Gavin[/name], by a long way, but I detest [name]Evan[/name].

My favourite boy’s name with a v in the middle is probably [name]Levi[/name] or [name]Donovan[/name].

Definitely [name]Evan[/name] (my ds name). we went through the same thing before our ds was born, but [name]Evan[/name] is just so handsome and strong and [name]Gavin[/name] is much more trendy in my opinion…

[name]Evan[/name]!! Though [name]Evan[/name] and [name]Gavin[/name] do sound similar, I find [name]Evan[/name] more pleasant to the ear. I’ve liked [name]Evan[/name] for a long time, recently SO told me he didn’t like it. =-(

[name]Evan[/name] for me, I think [name]Gavin[/name] is dated.

[name]Evan[/name]! [name]Gavin[/name] is less appealing than [name]Evan[/name] to me.

I love [name]Evan[/name], it is on my list! It is just such a strong and handsome name. [name]Gavin[/name] also sounds informal and a bit dated to me.
From personal experiances I have liked the [name]Evan[/name]'s I’ve met in real life better than the [name]Gavin[/name] I know, so that may be part of it. =]

I much prefer [name]Gavin[/name]. Probably because I know tons of [name]Evan[/name]'s and zero [name]Gavin[/name]'s but still. Seems fresh and handsome to me

I actually quite like both! I would say they both have a similar vibe. I personally see [name]Evan[/name] used more, so I’d go with [name]Gavin[/name], but I think they’re both well known relatively popular and modern strong boy names.

[name]EVAN[/name]!! Definitely

Definitely [name]Evan[/name]! [name]Love[/name] the name:-)
