If you were to see the name [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] on a class roster, would you assume it was a boy?
I know there are lots of girls named [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_u]Logan[/name_u], and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], but to me, those are girls with boys names. Is [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] the same thing as [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], as in, a boy’s name, sometimes trendily used on girls, in your mind? Looking for feedback, thank you!
I would assume boy, because most Camerons I’ve known have been boys, but I would not at all surprised if [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] were a girl. I think of it as a unisex name that is more common on boys (and that I prefer on boys)—different from how I view [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] and [name_u]Logan[/name_u].
I know only 1 [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], a boy
Still, [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] is less [name_u]James[/name_u] and more [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], I wouldn’t be surprised to see it on a girl
Yes, I would assume [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] was a boy. Same for [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_u]Logan[/name_u] or [name_u]Ryan[/name_u]. Now, it’s not because they are used for girls that we have to stop using them for boys. They are legitimate masculine names.
If spelled [name_u]Cameron[/name_u], I’d assume boy. With any other spelling ([name_u]Camryn[/name_u], [name_u]Kameron[/name_u], etc), I’d assume girl.
Alllllll boy. Then again all the names you listed are conpletely male to me, probably because the trend for boys names becoming unisex hasn’t caught on nearly as much here in the UK.
I mean, it is definitely similar to [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], and [name_u]Logan[/name_u] in the sense that it is a traditionally masculine name that has also been used for girls in recent decades.
However, from my personal experience, [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] is about 50/50, so I wouldn’t assume any gender. The others are all 70-95% boy, so I’d expect a boy but wouldn’t be surprised if it were a girl.
It’s not like the others you listed to me, I’d assume they were all boys. But [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] I probably wouldn’t assume either way, just wait and see. That said, there are two infant boy Camerons at my school, after I hadn’t met a single [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] of either gender for years. If that trend continues, I might start assuming boy.
I know of several male Camerons, so I would think boy. But because of [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] [name_u]Diaz[/name_u], seeing it on a girl wouldn’t surprise me.
