My husband loves plants and came upon the Latin name for Mountain [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] as including Kalmia. Our daughter’s name is [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and I feel we need something unique and feminine sounding for another girl if our surprise happens to be one. Is this name Kalmia a nice option that is easy to grasp, spell and say? Any middle name suggestions? Last name is 2 syllables and starts w K and ends w T.
Also any boy suggestions? My father recently passed away and was named [name_m]John[/name_m] and went by [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. I was so set on [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u] but [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] is so dang popular. It would be special to honor my Dad in someway with naming if we have a boy. Suggestions…
[name_m]Just[/name_m] looking at Kalmia, my mind wants to flip the letters around and say it like Kamlia or [name_f]Kamila[/name_f], I think because names like [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] and [name_f]Cambria[/name_f] are more familiar to me and that “cam- / kam-” sound just comes out. As far as middles, I’m not sure what direction you want to go with them for style, but with nature names I like classic middles. [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to change them though! Some other unique but still nature-based options for a girl are:
As far as boy names go, I think a good way to incorporate a popular name you love is to put it in the middle name spot. I’m not sure how you feel about nature names for boys, but here are some that I think would work well with [name_f]Eliana[/name_f]:
I find Kalmia to be a little too much like “[name_m]Calm[/name_m]” but that excluded I find it pretty and it has some nice nicknames
Like the pp suggested, I would use [name_m]John[/name_m] or [name_m]Jack[/name_m] or [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] as a middle
Other names could be [name_m]Jax[/name_m]/[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m], [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m], [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], [name_m]Jonas[/name_m], [name_m]Giannis[/name_m]/[name_m]Ioannis[/name_m] ,[name_u]Evan[/name_u], [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m], [name_u]Jan[/name_u], [name_m]Johannes[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m], [name_u]Shawn[/name_u]
Or, you could use your dad’s middle name / a name that sounds like his last name
