Geneva Rose vs Julia Rose

I really like the name [name]Julia[/name] [name]Rose[/name] [name]Garvin[/name], but am now considering [name]Geneva[/name] [name]Rose[/name] [name]Garvin[/name]. It is more unique and would have cute nn like [name]Gen[/name] ([name]Jenn[/name]) or [name]Eva[/name]. But is [name]Geneva[/name] as pretty as [name]Julia[/name]? Which names gives the better impression? Thanks

Update: Does anyone feel that Geneva clashes with my last name Garvin? Geneva Garvin…or does it compliment it? Does Julia Garvin go together better?

Update 2: Does ROSE GARVIN remind any of ROSE GARDEN? Is that good or bad?

All suggestions are greatly appreciated

definitely [name]Julia[/name]! love it! It is on my list!

humm I think [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Rose[/name] would be the very best. But I really like [name]Geneva[/name]!

[name]Geneva[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is far more beautiful to me than [name]Julia[/name] [name]Rose[/name]. [name]Julia[/name] seems so ho-hum to me. Nothing striking at all.
[name]Julie[/name] is prettier, but even then not enough to outshine [name]Geneva[/name].

[name]Geneva[/name] [name]Rose[/name] for sure! It’s gorgeous.

I like [name]Juliana[/name] [name]Rose[/name].

I agree 100% with East93. [name]Julia[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is nice, But [name]Geneva[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is stunning. It feels like it has more personality to me.

Thanks All

[name]Julia[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is gorgeous, but [name]Geneva[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is stunning! You can’t go wrong with either.

I didn’t like [name]Geneva[/name] the first time I heard it (a childhood friend of mine used it for his daughter with a horribly misspelled classic middle) but it’s really grown on me. I originally thought it too place namey, but it sounds like a lot of other names and has a long history of use. It’s beautiful and while [name]Julia[/name] is also lovely, I think [name]Geneva[/name] is better with mn [name]Rose[/name].

I think [name]Geneva[/name] is much prettier then [name]Julia[/name]. Something about [name]Julia[/name] is out of date, while [name]Geneva[/name] is pretty and fresh. I especially like it with [name]Rose[/name]. I think it’s a fresh new combo.
[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

All I can think of when I hear [name]Geneva[/name] is the [name]Geneva[/name] Convention. Not what I’d want associated with my daughter’s name-much to political. It is pretty sounding though. [name]Geneva[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is a lovely combo. I really like the name [name]Julia[/name] and although it’s not as lovely a combo as [name]Geneva[/name] [name]Rose[/name], [name]Julia[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is pretty.

I like [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Juliana[/name] more than [name]Julia[/name].

I still think [name]Julia[/name] beats [name]Geneva[/name]. [name]Geneva[/name] is totally unappealing to me aside from the [name]Gen[/name] nickname. I do like the [name]Gen[/name] NN very much and find it fresher than [name]Julie[/name]/[name]Jules[/name]. However, that could be gotten from [name]Genevieve[/name] or [name]Imogen[/name] and those are also nicer names.

If I were struggling to “freshen” [name]Julia[/name] and not into any of its own attractive variants, I find [name]Juniper[/name] and [name]Juno[/name] much more appealing than [name]Geneva[/name].

But I have issues with Switzerland. I don’t really like city names. I think pretty much any city/nation of the world is inherently political with people who will like it and dislike it and have reactions to a child named by it and very few are “safe” aside from mythological ones i.e. [name]Avalon[/name]. If a given city is very specific to your spirituality/beliefs/personal identity I might say stand fast on that and hold onto it (and your child will face some oppositions to it in life but if you’re willing to fight for it…) but if you just want a fresher version of [name]Julia[/name] I have to think there are easier ways.

Thank you all for your honest opinions and excellent advice. For now I lean more toward [name]Julia[/name], while not as unique, I feel it is the safer choice, less downside, still very pretty

I think [name]Julia[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is gorgeous.

I think [name]Geneva[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is much more beautiful and far less common. That gets my vote!

I think julia is much more common and [name]Geneva[/name] is much more pretty sounding, although I’m biased as my daughter Is [name]Geneva[/name] [name]Simone[/name]. FYI we call her [name]Neva[/name] for short!

[name]Geneva[/name] [name]Rosa[/name] is beautiful!! I absolutely love the name [name]Geneva[/name], it has great nicknames too!!!

Beautiful!!
[name]Ginny[/name]
[name]Gina[/name]
Gi-Gi
[name]Genny[/name]
[name]Neve[/name]
[name]Eve[/name]
[name]Evie[/name]
[name]Eva[/name]
!!! So many cute possibilities!!

[name]Geneva[/name] is beautiful. I might have to add that too my list! [name]Truly[/name] stunning.
[name]Julia[/name] is boring in comparison.

Does anyone feel that [name]Geneva[/name] clashes with my last name [name]Garvin[/name]? [name]Geneva[/name] [name]Garvin[/name]…or does it compliment it? Does [name]Julia[/name] [name]Garvin[/name] go together better?

I prefer [name]Geneva[/name], my oldest daughter’s name is [name]Eva[/name], but it depends on what you are going for. If you like the not so ordinary, unique and fresh feel, then go for [name]Geneva[/name]. If you want a more play it safe, classic and still very lovely feel than go for [name]Julia[/name]. I think either go fine with the last name [name]Garvin[/name].
