As someone who personally loves the name [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f], I would also never believe someone born in 2012 would be given the name. It did briefly enter the US top 1000 in 2011 and 2012 though, so I’m sure it was actually a possibility, but for a written story especially I think it would have too much of a [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f] Effect for most readers as it comes across very mid-20th century imo. [name_m]Will[/name_m] she go by a nickname in story? [name_m]Will[/name_m] her “unusual” name be addressed? If so, then it may be fine, and I do think [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is a stunning combo in any case.
As far as Charlesetta; I definitely see it working in a sea of Charles-feminine forms. It’s not a name that’s ever been super popular so it comes across a lot more ambiguously dated than [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f]. [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] is also a great middle for it.
the names are going to be explained at some point. they were named after their mothers great-grandmothers
Both names are pretty and unusual. They do seem a bit old for twins born in 2012. I’ve never heard of Charlesetta. When I think of both of these names I think of someone born sometime in the 1900s.
I think [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and Charlesetta [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] are great for twins! I would give them both nicknames though, probably [name_f]Addie[/name_f] and [name_m]Charlie[/name_m]. [name_f]Addie[/name_f] might be a bit stretchy for [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f] though.
their nicknames are [name_f]Dina[/name_f] and [name_m]Charlie[/name_m]
There were 250 Geraldines born in 2012, but less than five Charlesettas but [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Charlize[/name_f] and [name_f]Charley[/name_f] in multiple forms were in the Top 100, so it’s not impossible. Are they unexpected? Yes, but not entirely outlandish. I might expect them to be honor names maybe? But not necessarily?
they are honor names so I figured it would work
ah that makes sense - I would read them and think that was part of the story too?
it’s said that they were named after their great-great-grandmothers, tried to make it pretty obvious so the readers didn’t think I was crazy for the names
