[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
Dh loves the name [name_f]Gerty[/name_f]. I do too, but I just think that it’s too nick-namey to use on its own. I’ve been into [name_f]Greta[/name_f] nn [name_f]Gerty[/name_f] for a while, but [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is starting to lose its sparkle for me. I really don’t care for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]. Does anyone have any other ideas of a way to get the nn [name_f]Gerty[/name_f]?
Thank you!
I think [name_f]Gerty[/name_f]/[name_f]Gertie[/name_f] is very cute! I actually think [name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] are lovely names, but what about something like [name_f]Margot[/name_f]/[name_f]Margaux[/name_f] instead? [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f] is another option.
My mum calls me [name_f]Gerty[/name_f] and my name’s [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
Some other ideas:
[name_f]Garnet[/name_f]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] [name_f]Tansy[/name_f]/[name_f]Tilly[/name_f]
[name_f]Gerty[/name_f] is pretty adorable. (Or spelled [name_f]Gertie[/name_f], a la [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables) What about [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f], [name_f]Gretel[/name_f], [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f], [name_f]Agrippa[/name_f]/[name_f]Agrippina[/name_f], [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f], [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]/Ingaret (I only came across Ingaret very recently), [name_f]Sigrid[/name_f], [name_f]Brighid[/name_f]/[name_f]Brigitta[/name_f]/other variation on [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], or [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]/[name_f]Margery[/name_f]? This is a tough question as [name_f]Gerty[/name_f] is not a name I have heard or thought of in a very long time…
[name_f]Gerta[/name_f], [name_f]Gertina[/name_f], [name_f]Georgette[/name_f]
These might be a bit of a stretch, but I also thought of Lagertha and [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f]
You could get ‘[name_f]Gertie[/name_f]’ from [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f], [name_f]Gretchen[/name_f], [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], [name_u]Germaine[/name_u]…
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Gerda[/name_f]? The nameberry description seems a bit harsh to me, but I think this is an adorable name
Thank you for all the responses!
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] is my all time favorite #1. I never thought of [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] nn [name_f]Gerty[/name_f], but then I feel like I’m wasting just [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]. I kind of like [name_f]Garnet[/name_f], & that makes perfect sense. I do really like [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], but that’s a bit of a stretch. Brigetta makes more sense, but I don’t like that as much…oh well. I’ll have to mull over some.
