Gideon?

Okay I kinda’ love this name but I don’t think I’d be brave enough to use it (Not pregnant or TTC just a name lover). It’s an old biblical name and remains very much uncommon and unused. I think it needs more time to come back. However, I think it’s quirky yet handsome. WDYT of [name]Gideon[/name]?

I think [name]Gideon[/name] is a good name! It is a good, strong Biblical name. I don’t have kids either but I would definitely use this name. I think that it is good that [name]Gideon[/name] is not so common (well, it probably is among the Amish).

Yeah, I love strong biblical names for boys also.

There are some lovely names for boys in the Bible - [name]Abraham[/name], [name]Eli[/name], [name]Solomon[/name], [name]Shem[/name]. [name]Tobias[/name], [name]Isaiah[/name], [name]Josiah[/name], [name]Malachi[/name], [name]Japheth[/name], [name]Ezekiel[/name], [name]Jabez[/name], [name]Samson[/name] & [name]Zebedee[/name] are some of my favourites. [name]Gideon[/name] is a rare gem. Too bad there aren’t as many wonderful names for girls. I can only think of [name]Abigail[/name], [name]Eve[/name], [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Naomi[/name], [name]Dinah[/name], [name]Delilah[/name] & [name]Salome[/name] off the top of my head and the last two have bad reputations!

Really? You don’t think [name]Gideon[/name] is back? Admittedly, it’s more hipster/indie, but I think there are quite a few little Gideons around.

I like it but we’ve ruled it out because of its rising popularity!

Maybe it’s just here (Australia).
