I was picturing it sounding identical to the Hebrew word chai (with that throaty kh sound), but I’m not sure if either of them are Arabic speakers so perhaps they use an Anglicized pronunciation.

I had guessed Khair! I really like it for them. I think stylistically it sounds perfect with [name_f]Gigi[/name_f] and [name_m]Zayn[/name_m]. I was expecting something a little more unusual, but I’m not disappointed!

There are other cultures that are just as valid, and [name_u]Khai[/name_u] is arabic 
. [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_u]Kai[/name_u] has other roots than Hawaiian, including in parts of [name_f]Africa[/name_f], Native American cultures, Japan, [name_f]China[/name_f], Turkey, etc
