Gilbert Emory?

Tell me your thoughts on this combo?

We are pretty set on [name_u]Emory[/name_u] as a middle. (Or [name_u]Emery[/name_u], which do you prefer?) My husband loves [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m], I’m not so sure - although I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] all the nickname options.

I think [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_u]Emery[/name_u] looks more balanced than the [name_u]Emory[/name_u] spelling (also like, but prefer on girls). I think it’s a really nick name & love the nickname [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]!

I like [name_u]Emory[/name_u] better but I would still probably use [name_u]Emery[/name_u] because it came first. That’s just me though.
I just don’t like [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] or [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] - but it’s a perfectly good name that’s respectable and I’m sure will be cute on a little boy even though it’s not my style! And [name_m]Gil[/name_m] is handsome. If you love the nicknames, which he will almost definitely end up being called by, and you husband loves the name, it sounds great for you guys.
And even though I don’t like [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m], I think it goes well with [name_u]Emery[/name_u].

I like the look of [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_u]Emery[/name_u] as opposed to [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_u]Emory[/name_u]. [name_m]Gilby[/name_m] is probably my favourite nickname for [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] (like guitarist [name_m]Gilby[/name_m] [name_m]Clarke[/name_m]), followed very closely by [name_m]Gil[/name_m].

I like [name_u]Emery[/name_u], but [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] seems not quite ready for a comeback for me yet— I can see him getting teased. I do like [name_m]Gil[/name_m] and slightly less so [name_m]Gilby[/name_m], but can’t really see [name_u]Bert[/name_u] or [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] working for a child at the moment. [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_u]Wynn[/name_u] is so beautiful and so are your other boys names. I don’t want to discourage you if you love the name, you should truly go with what you love— I’m sure it will work out that he loves it too, especially if you express that you love it— but personally I would go with one of your other boy’s names.
