Ginevra nn eve? [theoretical]

I intuitively pronounce [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] jin-EV-rah. jin-EEV-rah seems much less natural to my ears but would make the nickname [name_f]Eve[/name_f] much more logical.

Thoughts?

Is [name_f]Jin[/name_f]-EEV-rah an accepted pronounciation anywhere?

Pronounced the Eev way, yes [name_f]Eve[/name_f] works as a nickname, but I don’t think that pronounciation is nearly as pretty as the EV pronounciation.

[name_f]Jin[/name_f]-ehv-ra sounds pretty and italian whereas [name_f]Jin[/name_f]-eev-ra sounds almost made up to me
You can get [name_f]Eve[/name_f] from [name_f]Jin[/name_f]-ehv-ra

I really like [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f], with the Italian pronunciation. I’m not a fan of jin-EEV-rah though. It feels like a mispronunciation to me, like pronouncing [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] with a ‘s’ sound instead of a ‘ch’ sound. There are other names that could give the nickname [name_f]Eve[/name_f].

[name_m]Just[/name_m] go with [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. It seems to be the name you actually like. If you feel like the name needs a boost go nuts on the middle names.

I think [name_f]Eva[/name_f] makes more sense as a nn for [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f] (eh-vah)
