I played this style of game last year and I thought it was really cool! This game has two namebanks, one for boys and one for girls. To create the family, you answer questions and then count along how many letters are in your answer. For example, in the question “what is your favourite animal?”, the person answering dog will count along 3 names whilst someone who likes penguins will count along 7. Where the answer is a number, count along that number rather than the number of letters in that number. For example, in the question “how many siblings do you have?”, someone with one sibling will only count along 1 space, not 3. Make sure to pick up where you left off each time, otherwise your family will have the same few names! However, if you count through the whole namebank before you complete the family, you should start again from the beginning and cycle back through.
Example:
LN: How many siblings do you have?
My answer: 2, so I count along 2, and my CAF has the LN Dines
Bygraves, Dines, Shannon, Cooke, Davies, Lyon, Rowles, Stebbings, Hewitt, Turner, Lopez, Croll, Castro, Godman, Lowe…
DH FN: Where are you right now?
My answer: Home, so I count along 4 and his name is Claude
Absalom, Alexander, Arthur, Claude, Daniel, Dominic, Elijah, Eoin, Ezekiel, Flynn…
Make sense? I think it’s easy once you get into the flow of it. Have fun, and feel free to include any other information you like, such as jobs, backgrounds, bios, or even a +25 years!
If you enjoyed this, please play my other count-along games HERE and HERE.
