As of late I really like the name Giovan and I like it best as a middle name for [name_u]Leo[/name_u], the name I want to name my son. It’s a derivative of [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m] that I haven’t seen very frequently used and I’m wondering if it appears slightly incomplete. However; I like it much more than [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m] because I’m not going for a super Italian name, I’d like it to be more subtle & it sounds more charming and handsome to me than other [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m] derivatives like [name_m]Gian[/name_m] or [name_u]Gianni[/name_u]. How would you guys say it sounds in the combo I like - [name_u]Leo[/name_u] Giovan? Is it too short or abruptly ending?
I think it sounds pretty cool, a hint of flair and style. It works as a middle. [name_m]Just[/name_m] to clarify, how are you pronouncing it?

I started off saying it (gee-oh-vahn) but from googling it I’ve seen the pronunciation (jah-vawn) might be the more commonly used pronunciation but I don’t know I haven’t settled on it yet. I suppose it depends on what sounds better paired with [name_u]Leo[/name_u].

I personally like it more than [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m]! It definitely still feels Italian but a bit more tamed down compared to [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m]. Very handsome
