We’re not expecting yet but historically DH & I have a very hard time finding girls names we agree on so I’m back on the search to build a new list. We currently have two girls: [name_f]Auria[/name_f] Rheaume (pronounced ray-”m - a family name) & [name_u]Waverly[/name_u] [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] (nn Wavy/Waves). The way this usually works is I compile a list of 20+ names and then DH goes through and says no to at least 19 of them and then I search for more names. We like to think ours kids’ names are a happy medium between top-20 and where-did-they-come-up-with-this. I think it might be sweet to stick to a three syllable first name / two syllable middle name combo but it’s not a must.

So many great names to consider!

I want to like [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] but there’s just something about it that I just don’t like & I can’t put my finger on what it is.
I really like [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] and [name_f]Calista[/name_f] (they were both on my list with the last one) and since we’ve gained a neice with a [name_u]Cal[/name_u]- name and a cousin named her baby girl another, very similar [name_u]Cal[/name_u]- name so those are officially out. (We can’t have any more
“[name_f]Callie[/name_f]” “[name_u]Cal[/name_u]-[name_u]Cal[/name_u]”'s in this group.)
I like [name_f]Celestine[/name_f] and I actually added [name_f]Celestia[/name_f] to my list earlier today! (DH is into astronomy so I’m hoping that may work in my favor)
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is one that DH has vetoed multiple times :confused:
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Lux[/name_f] are new to me and both going on my list!!
I’ve only just heard of [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] recently and it’s really growing on me.

I’ve never thought of [name_f]Lavendar[/name_f] as a name but I love it! I love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and DH hates it so perhaps this could be a good alternative.
DH has pretty much said no to any name with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in it - [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], etc.
I used to really like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] but it’s grown incredibly popular where I live and I know at least 5 friends with little “[name_f]Addie[/name_f]”'s.
I’m pretty sure DH said no to [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] last time but it’s going back on the list :wink:

I considered [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] with our last but I am afraid no one would ever pronounce the name correctly.
I appreciate your attempts to consider a name from each of our “no” lists and adding them together… perhaps that’s something for us to really think about.
I’ve never seen [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f] before and I quite like it. My concern would be that people may try to nn her [name_f]Karen[/name_f]/[name_f]Keren[/name_f], which I’m not fond of whatsoever.
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f] is new to me too and it’s going on the list, for sure!
I kind of like [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]. I like the name [name_f]Sara[/name_f]/[name_f]Sarah[/name_f] but it’s just so common but [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] is similar with a twist!
[name_f]Electra[/name_f] is really cool. I may be able to get DH on board with that.
