What do you think of the girl name Dovey? What middle names go with it? Thanks:)

I wouldn’t use it as a first name. Dovey sounds kind of corny and made up.

Dovey sounds a bit silly to me as a given name (and I can’t help but think of the cutesy phrase [name_f]Lovey[/name_f] Dovey). I can see it as a pet name or nickname, but not a full name. Have you thought of using a name that means dove? [name_f]Jemima[/name_f], [name_f]Paloma[/name_f], [name_f]Yonina[/name_f]? And nicknaming [name_u]Dove[/name_u] or Dovey? There is also [name_f]Doveva[/name_f].

I’d love to meet a little Dovey! I have a soft spot for [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and this reminds me of it. I also like just [name_u]Dove[/name_u]. A one syllable middle name would work well.

I like [name_u]Dove[/name_u], not Dovey

[name_f]Lovey[/name_f] Dovey comes to mind. It’s too cutesy and silly to wear past the age of 5. [name_u]Dove[/name_u] is nice and wearable, Dovey is not. Maybe [name_u]Dove[/name_u] nn Dovey?

Dovey is also a no for me, it’s not a name I can take seriously but more a cute nickname. If there was a name that could give you this as a nn, I think that would give your daughter better options growing up.

I think it’s adorable! However, it could be a nickname or pet name.

I think [name_u]Dove[/name_u] itself is a usable first name, and Dovey is a perfectly fine nickname to get to from it, but Dovey itself feels way too cutesy.

I think it’s a lovely girls name!! Fresh and beautiful.

[name_f]Remember[/name_f] that your daughter will be an adult all too soon. Dovey would be a name that is too childish for an adult [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
