We are team green and we have a boys name decided ([name_u]Micah[/name_u]) but cannot agree on a girl’s name. We would have liked it to be biblical but I hate all the other biblical girl names (or they are used by our siblings). Hubby wants to use [name_u]Micah[/name_u] as a girls name but I don’t know how I feel about it. I think it’s clearly a boy’s name. He loves [name_u]Marley[/name_u]. I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] but he isn’t sold. I like names that are not in the top 100 but also aren’t too weird or old ladyish.
Also we struggled with infertility so a biblical meaning of “gift from God”, “miracle”, or something along those lines would be nice. I like the name [name_f]Mira[/name_f] (short for [name_f]Miracle[/name_f], although I wouldn’t use [name_f]Miracle[/name_f]) but my niece is [name_f]Mila[/name_f] and I think they are too similar.
Please give me some ideas! I’m losing my mind.
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] both mean gift from God. You could go with [name_f]Thea[/name_f], which sounds nice with [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] and [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]. [name_f]Dora[/name_f] means gift.
[name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce [name_f]Thea[/name_f]?
I personally pronounce it Thie-uh, with a long E, although you could easily pronounce it thay-uh. I think [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is a lovely choice! I’ll add [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], which means “wished for child,” and it is very close to the biblical [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and it has a french form [name_f]Aveline[/name_f], which is oh-so-close to [name_f]Adeline[/name_f].
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] rhymes with [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_f]Mia[/name_f].
My favorite girl bible name is [name_f]Selah[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m]. Melts. My. Heart. I also like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] ([name_f]Gen[/name_f]. 3:20), [name_f]Myra[/name_f] (Acts 27:5), & [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] ([name_m]Joshua[/name_m] 18:8).
