[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there! I am expecting a baby girl in [name_f]September[/name_f] and I’m stuck for names! The problem is that I think I like too many of them! I’ve got a few that I really love, and would like to hear your opinions on them.
My only real criteria is that I don’t want anything that is going to become super popular over the next few years (I was always one of three girls in my class with my name, so hoping for something a bit less popular)
Also, if you have any suggestions for other names I may like, I’d love to hear them! Maybe I just haven’t found the right one yet!
[name_f]Edie[/name_f] is really cute, and in the States it seems as though it will take a long while to make a comeback as a stand alone name. Unless [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is a nickname for [name_u]Eden[/name_u], I don’t see how that could be popular any time soon.
[name_f]Edie[/name_f] is adorable.
Based on [name_f]Edie[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f], and [name_f]Freda[/name_f]:
[name_f]Zara[/name_f], [name_f]Freda[/name_f], [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] flow best with [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] as a middle.
Another name to consider based on your list would be [name_f]Freya[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Zara[/name_f], [name_f]Edie[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] (though I’m not sure if would flow with middle [name_f]Madeline[/name_f])
Some other ideas
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Elara[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_f]Hallie[/name_f]
Would you consider [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] as the middle name? [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is one of my all-time favorites! [name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] also sounds great together.
I love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]! I agree it might not sound best with [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], though.
My other favorites are [name_f]Zara[/name_f], [name_f]Edie[/name_f], and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. All three are so pretty, cute, and sweet!
I also like [name_f]Maxine[/name_f], but only because I love the nickname [name_u]Max[/name_u].
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Freda[/name_f] are great names too, just nms!
You have a list of such beautiful choices! Good luck!!
Hmm… I can’t figure out how to reply to a specific post so we’ll see how this goes! haha
I hadn’t really considered [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] as a middle name, since I was thinking the middle name could have a family connection. But both [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] sound gorgeous! I’ve loved [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] since I was a kid and always thought I would use it - but it’s not at the top of my husband’s list (He dislikes nn [name_u]Clemmie[/name_u]). It has taken the shine off of [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] for me, because I want us to choose a name we both love! So maybe [name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] could be best of both worlds for us!
Also, loving all of the other suggestions! This is so hard!
My favorites are [name_f]Maxine[/name_f], [name_f]Edie[/name_f], and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] doesn’t flow the best though. [name_f]Zara[/name_f] is nice but a more modern style than your other choices. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is nice but the most popular of your list (in the US anyway). It doesn’t look like it is heading for top 10 though. Is [name_f]Freda[/name_f] pronounced [name_m]FRED[/name_m]-a or FREED-a? I like the FREED-a pronunciation but would spell it [name_f]Frida[/name_f] or [name_f]Frieda[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] too but it is pretty bold so depends whether you love it enough.
I love your whole list except [name_f]Zara[/name_f] is a bit much for me. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] is beautiful and not too popular. That gets my vote!
[name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] & [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] are my favorites from your list. I also love [name_f]Freda[/name_f], but i’m not sure it goes with [name_f]Madeline[/name_f].
I really love the combination of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. It flows nicely and has an adorable charm I also really like [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] as a middle - I’ve always been fond of the name [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. My favorite first name from your list is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and I love [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] as middles.
Thank you for all the great suggestions! Quite a few of the suggested names were on my long list, including [name_u]Simone[/name_u], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], and [name_f]Nancy[/name_f]! I love them all, but had to narrow it down some how! As for [name_f]Freda[/name_f], I was pronouncing it the same as [name_f]Frieda[/name_f]/[name_f]Freida[/name_f]/however you spell it! I spelled it this way as it was a family name, but I love the other spellings too. I’ve run [name_f]Zara[/name_f] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] by dh and he’s on board! It’s the front runner for now, but this thread has been such a great help and we will definitely be able to pick a name from here by [name_f]September[/name_f]! Thanks again!
I adore [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] as either a first or middle. It works really well in the middle with [name_f]Zara[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f]. However I like all the names on your list, with my favourite after [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] being [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Edie[/name_f].
I removed [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] from the list, because it’s likely to be shortened to [name_u]Max[/name_u], and there are a lot of little boys named [name_u]Max[/name_u]. I love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], but not with [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] as a middle name. If you went with something like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], that would work. So, I narrowed it down to three, below, that I think work well with [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] for a middle.
