[name_m]Just[/name_m] found out I’m pregnant with [name_f]Baby[/name_f] #2[name_f][/name_f], due this [name_f]Fall[/name_f]! We don’t know the gender yet, but I’m ready to start looking at name options!
[name_f][/name_f]
We already have a daughter named [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_m]Ramsey[/name_m]. I absolutely love her name and want to find something just as special. I love that [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] is an underrated classic ( I can’t believe it’s not in the top 1000 yet!) but still feels like a fresh choice. It means “lily” which was perfect since she was born right before [name_f]Easter[/name_f]. [name_m]Ramsey[/name_m] is a family name and we intend to use one again as a middle name this go around.
[name_f][/name_f]
This will be our last baby so I really want to make sure we find the perfect name. Please share you thoughts and feel free to suggest names as well. TIA!
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]- I adore this name and think it goes so well with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. I love the nn opinions of [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], and [name_f]Romy[/name_f]. It feels like a great autumn/fall cozy themed name. I really wanted to use it last time so my husband has agreed that it can be our front runner this time.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]- We also considered this name last time. I love the vintage feel and charm. It feels beautiful yet approachable. I wonder if it feels a little trendy compared to [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]?
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]- I‘ve loved this name for a long time! It’s beautiful and feminine but has the great meaning of “renowned warrior”. I LOVE the nickname [name_f]Lou[/name_f]! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband isn’t a big fan but I’m hoping he’ll come around.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f]- my newest name crush. Full of old school charm and I love [name_f]Thea[/name_f] (maybe even Teddy?) as a nickname.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]- I love flower names and like the subtle connection to [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] meaning [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. I’m obsessed with the nn [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]!
Hi!
These are so so cute! I love Rosemary!
I would suggest Violette Willa!
Other options: Vivian Magnolia, Sylvie Briar. Briar means wild rose!
Thea can work as a middle too!
Congratulations! Your daughter’s name is gorgeous! Ranked in order of preference for you:
[name_f][/name_f]
#1) [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] – this is such a pretty choice, and she goes so well with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. [name_f]Loving[/name_f] the nickname options & the subtle nature connection
[name_f][/name_f]
#2) [name_f]Theodora[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] – to me, [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] has such cozy fall vibes, which would be perfect for your autumn baby. She has that gentle vintage sound as well, similar to [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], and I absolutely adore the nickname [name_m]Teddy[/name_m]!
[name_f][/name_f]
#3) [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] – again, such a pretty choice! The flower connection is beautiful, and I’ve always loved the melodic sound of this name. [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is adorable as well!
[name_f][/name_f]
#4) [name_f]Louisa[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] – one of my favorite names, this would have ranked higher if your husband was on board… she has such a powerful elegance as a name, but also a bright vintage feel that just blends perfectly with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. [name_f]Lou[/name_f] is such a cute nickname!
[name_f][/name_f]
#5) [name_f]Willa[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] – a lovely name, but does feel a little more trendy/modern than the classic [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], despite definitely having a vintage vibe.
[name_f][/name_f]
A few other suggestions you might like: [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] / [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] / [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f][name_f][/name_f], or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
I would definitely go with [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] out of your options.
[name_f][/name_f]
A few suggestions:
[name_f][/name_f]
Emmeline-- definitely same sweet charm/feel as [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] while being its own name. It’s a bit more of a “summer” name IMO if that’s important to you. Nicknames: E, [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Linny[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
Rosella-- still has most of Rosemary’s nickname potentials but matches the whimsy of [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] better IMO. Also less common. Nicknames: [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
Aurelia-- great fall vibe. Nicknames: [name_f]Lia[/name_f], Reli,
[name_f][/name_f]
Marietta-- fall vibe and an under-used classic as well. Nicknames: [name_f]Mari[/name_f], Etta/Ettie, even [name_m]Ari[/name_m].
Oh gosh your girl contenders are simply exquisite and I am so inlove with your picks [name_f][/name_f]!
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. I like that it has a different ending than [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] but also is connected [name_f][/name_f]. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is a plant based name and [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] means [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- also a plant. I also LOVE a name with lots of nickname potential and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is chock full [name_f][/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is Maris/ [name_f]Marys[/name_f] ( Mare-iss)
[name_f][/name_f]
I love [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- and [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] could be the CUTEST nickname [name_f][/name_f]! This is my second favourite!
[name_f][/name_f]
I also think you might like [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f][name_f]Georgina[/name_f]
You have a very strong list, all great options. [name_f][/name_f]Whichever name you both love the most will be perfect and special simply because it’s your child’s name.
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- This is my favourite pairing with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. It’s the most matched in terms of style and sound as both are classic and fresh, lilting and feminine. There’s a chance he’ll come around – I was neutral when my husband suggested our son’s name but it slowly grew on me and became my favourite.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- A great pairing with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. Sweet and traditional, just slightly quaint compared to the more grounded [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. The botanical meaning is a nice connection to have.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I like the friendly and spirited feel of this pairing. It’s the most effortless and down to earth option on your list. [name_f]Willa[/name_f] is a lovely, timeless choice. While it may not be completely under the radar, it’s usage has been quite steady. I don’t think the numbers indicate trendiness.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- This pairing leans more clunky, dusty vintage. In saying that, the sounds in of [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] are really in style like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. It would make a great choice, just not a classic pairing.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- This pairing leans slightly artsy although I can still see the vintage connection. It’s unexpected and there’s something quite nice about that. Surprisingly, [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] is the most popular name on your list. If you’re concerned about about perceptions of trendiness, this might be the one to be cautious about.
I would rank them [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f] but all of them go well with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f].
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is PERFECT with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]! I adore them both. That would, without a doubt, be my first choice. But I also like [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f].
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- this may be the only [name_f]Rose[/name_f] name I love[name_f][/name_f] (although I like a few others). [name_f][/name_f] I agree she is perfection with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], and I adore the nn [name_f]Romy[/name_f] (Rosie is sweet too). [name_f][/name_f] She feels cozy and vintage and reminds me of baking in the kitchen with my mom and also feels quite international to me? [name_f][/name_f] Probably because the only one I knew was the secretary at my high school, which was a boarding school and had kids from all over the world who attended. [name_f][/name_f] She feels so versatile with the [name_f]Rose[/name_f] nns, [name_f]Romy[/name_f], and all the off-shoots from [name_f]Mary[/name_f] you could use for a nn as well! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is dreamy.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- feels vintage and literary to me; I am admittedly not the hugest [name_f]Willa[/name_f] fan but it is a timeless and I agree it goes well with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f] I like some of your other options more with her though.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- love how literary [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] feels via Alcott; I remember thinking of [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] as this grand and romantic and adventurous name, she feels like the name of composers and adventurers, like the name of a woman who does wonderful and beautiful things that make the world a better place. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Lou[/name_f] is so sweet! [name_f][/name_f] I like the option of [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] for a baby too. [name_f][/name_f] I think [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] are a gorgeous pair.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- it’s always felt like an obvious feminization to me (and I’ve never been a fan of those), so I’m one of the few berries who don’t love it. [name_f][/name_f] I do think [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is absolutely beautiful, but would prefer just [name_f]Thea[/name_f] with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f] It does have a beautiful meaning, though, and [name_m]Teddie[/name_m] on a girl is a GP for me.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- beautiful floral name! [name_f][/name_f] I don’t appreciate it enough but I think it’s so underrated. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is super cute! [name_f][/name_f] I think [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], [name_f]Camellia[/name_f], [name_f]Wisteria[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], [name_f]Jonquil[/name_f], [name_m]Larkspur[/name_m] feel like similar floral names if you’re wanting other options [name_f][/name_f]- they don’t have [name_f]Dolly[/name_f], although I think you could pull [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] from [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] too! [name_f][/name_f] I like all of them with [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f]
