I was trying to think of a girl name that could honor my late father-in-law, named [name_m]Robert[/name_m] (went by [name_m]Bob[/name_m]). I don’t like [name_f]Roberta[/name_f]. This would be for a middle name, not the name she would go by. Any suggestions?
[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Robin[/name_u]?
I can’t think of anything besides [name_u]Robin[/name_u] (which is a great suggestion) but if you don’t like [name_u]Robin[/name_u], you can always find a name with a similar meaning to [name_m]Robert[/name_m]. Nameberry’s super search tool is very helpful in that regard.
The old [name_m]French[/name_m] feminine form of [name_m]Robert[/name_m] is [name_u]Roberte[/name_u], which might not be so bad since she wouldn’t be going by the name. Personally, I think that [name_f]Robina[/name_f] is nice option. There is always [name_f]Bobbi[/name_f].
What name style do you like?
I think trysaratops suggestion ([name_u]Robin[/name_u]) is nice!

I discovered that [name_m]Robert[/name_m] means “bright fame”, [name_f]Tecla[/name_f]/[name_f]Thecla[/name_f]/[name_f]Thekla[/name_f] means fame of God (greek)… [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] and [name_f]Tania[/name_f] have a “fame” related meaning as well, what do you think?
Or just use a “R” starting name you like like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_u]Riley[/name_u], [name_f]Rebekah[/name_f], [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], etc.
[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] just means brightest. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] - clear, bright, shiny adverb, [name_f]Clarissa[/name_f] - superlative.
[name_u]Robin[/name_u] is the best suggestion in my opinion!
