Girl names in songs

There are a bunch of [name]Caroline[/name] songs. I love that name! I never cared too much for [name]Penny[/name] until I heard a song with it. I also like [name]Layla[/name], [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Jude[/name], [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name].

I don’t like the name [name]Eileen[/name] and I can’t stand that song either! I’m not crazy about [name]Roxanne[/name], [name]Donna[/name], [name]Peggy[/name] [name]Sue[/name], [name]Maggie[/name] [name]May[/name], [name]Billie[/name] [name]Jean[/name], [name]Delilah[/name], [name]Earl[/name], [name]Bennie[/name], [name]Bobbie[/name] or [name]Eleanor[/name] but I like all those songs!

There’s a McFly song called [name]Little[/name] [name]Joanna[/name] and McFly and The Script have songs with [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Kay[/name] in respectively, although those two don’t have the best connotations. My favourites from songs are [name]Iris[/name], [name]Delilah[/name], [name]Joanna[/name] and [name]Roxanne[/name]. I really feel like the songs should bother me, especially with [name]Roxanne[/name], but I love them too much!

[name]Emmaline[/name] by the [name]Velvet[/name] Underground (i think) reminds me of highschool and my highschool friend of that name. Was so jealous she could have an unusual name with a song and yet no-one was inspired by [name]Kelly[/name]? WTF!!

Also [name]Daniella[/name] by [name]John[/name] [name]Butler[/name] Trio - we change that in our household to [name]Xanthe[/name]-[name]Ella[/name] and have all the kids believing those are the real words!!

I don’t really pay attention to names in songs, but I really like [name]Jolene[/name]. “[name]Jolene[/name], [name]Jolene[/name], [name]Jolene[/name], [name]Jolene[/name], …Your beauty is beyond compare, with flaming locks of auburn hair, with ivory skin and eyes of emerald green, Your smile is like a breath of spring, your voice is soft like summer rain, …”

This song used to be my roommate’s ringtone, so I know it far better than I would like haha. He says “Shorty’s like a melody” Although it does sound a bit like [name]Charlene[/name], so I see why you thought that

[name]Athena[/name], I do the same thing! And usually by the time I learn the actual lyrics, I’m sad because I liked my version so much better. Next time I hear that song I’m totally going to hear [name]Charlene[/name] (and prefer it!)

My husband totally nixed some of my favorites because he didn’t like the songs:
