[name_m]Hi[/name_m], guys. The last time I was here a few months ago the only thing I had to name was a D&D character and now I’m expecting.
You read the title. I know what you’re going to say: “[name_f]VICTORIA[/name_f]”. NOOOO.
My partner was ok with the names I liked and I was ok with his, we had built a nice pool for choosing. Until recently, because now he’s deadset on naming the bean [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] if it’s a girl, he says it’s because of the meaning. I loathe [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] because a) there already are a few Víctors/Victorias in my extended family, b) I associate it with many preppy spoiled brats I have met (some of those being the relatives) and c)because it’s just too common. It’s one of those names everyone is choosing for their daughters where I live and in many countries of the Spanish-speaking world.
I like the meaning too, though and it wouldn’t hurt to broaden my naming horizons. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know any fresh names meaning victory or victorious, triumphant… that sort of stuff?
Sorry for any repeats
[name_f]Ailsa[/name_f]
[name_f]Eunice[/name_f]
[name_f]Kinsley[/name_f]
[name_u]Nico[/name_u]/[name_f]Nicole[/name_f]/[name_u]Nicola[/name_u]
[name_f]Aisha[/name_f]–Prosperous
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]–Prosperous in war…that’s kind of like victorious?

[name_f]Zada[/name_f]–[name_m]Fortunate[/name_m]
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]–Abundance, [name_m]Prosperity[/name_m] (Boy name, but could go cross-gender, I think)
[name_f]Thalia[/name_f]–To flourish
[name_u]Hero[/name_u]–maybe a bit too much, but it is from [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]…
[name_f]Maxine[/name_f]–Greatest

My pen name is [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Danielle[/name_f]. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] means whole/complete, and of course, [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] survived the lion’s den.
[name_f]Danielle[/name_f] is a bit dated, but what about [name_f]Daniela[/name_f]?
Otherwise,
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] means victory
[name_f]Tory[/name_f] or [name_f]Torie[/name_f] obviously means victory too
[name_f]Alexa[/name_f] means one who will protect mankind
[name_m]Caden[/name_m] means fighter if you want something gender neutral
[name_f]Evanna[/name_f]–young and brave fighter
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] means one who is a strong and valient fighter
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] means fighter
Good luck on everything!!
It might be interesting to go back in history and look there for inspiration, either historical figures, heroes and heroines from fiction, and/ or Greek and [name_m]Roman[/name_m] gods.
I’m Korean and know a girl named Seungri.(Seung - ri) It literally means victory in our language, and it’s very unique even here. And what about [name_f]Victorine[/name_f]? [name_f]Victorina[/name_f]? [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]?
