This isn’t for me
Last name: Harling
What girl first name would you put with it?
I like the name [name]Scarlett[/name]—how does [name]Scarlett[/name] Harling sound?

Harling can go with some things, it’s not the end of the world. [name]Scarlett[/name] Harling, however, does not work. She will be mocked as [name]Scarlett[/name] Harlot. [name]Do[/name] not do that to your daughter. Please.

[name]Scarlett[/name] Harling rhymes to me (Scar/Har), so I don’t think it works well.
Names I can see with Harling:
[name]Felicity[/name] Harling
[name]Annabelle[/name] Harling
[name]Vivienne[/name] Harling
[name]Evelyn[/name] Harling
[name]Lucy[/name] Harling (I think the longer names work better, though)
[name]Ruby[/name] Harling
I’d just avoid names with an “ar” sound (like [name]Scarlet[/name] or [name]Margaret[/name]), names that end with an A, names ending with a “lee” sound. I think that longer first names work really well with Harling.
If the A ending sound doesn’t bother them with Harling (it creates an awkward flow to me), they may like:
[name]Diana[/name] Harling
[name]Eliza[/name] Harling
[name]Louisa[/name] Harling
(These names actually flow pretty well with Harling to me, A ending an all, and much better to me than names with an -ia ending.)
Good luck!
[name]Felicity[/name] Harling and [name]Annabelle[/name] Harling are great. I agree that longer names seem to work better with Harling. Other names I quite like are-
[name]Jessamine[/name] Harling
[name]Violet[/name] Harling
[name]Mirabel[/name] Harling
[name]Ariella[/name] Harling
[name]Saffron[/name] Harling
[name]Chloe[/name] Harling
[name]Genevieve[/name] Harling
[name]Claudia[/name] Harling
[name]Matilda[/name] Harling
[name]Gabriella[/name] Harling
[name]Madeline[/name] Harling
[name]Ottilie[/name] Harling
[name]Kate[/name] Harling
[name]Alexa[/name] Harling
[name]Lauren[/name] Harling
[name]Erin[/name] Harling
[name]Ella[/name] Harling
[name]Maya[/name] Harling
[name]Amanda[/name] Harling
[name]Natalie[/name] Harling
[name]Danielle[/name] Harling
The longer names that don’t end in “a” sound best to me. Harling sounds very British and proper, I would stay away from trendy names and try and go classic and potentially British.
I love the suggestions of [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Vivienne[/name].
I personally love:
[name]Meredith[/name] Harling
Some great suggestions already!
I, too, immediately rang “[name]Scarlett[/name] Harlot”…
Definitely not [name]Scarlett[/name]…how about [name]Sophia[/name] or [name]Juliana[/name]?
