Hello helpful nameberries!
I haven’t posted for almost 4 years when you guys massively helped us have the confidence to go with our chosen boys and girls names for our second baby. I’m wondering if I can please pick your fine brains again?
I’m now 7.5 months pregnant with baby number 3 and we are having another surprise! As our last baby was a pink surprise, we are sticking with our previously chosen boy’s name but could do with some thoughts on our girls shortlist.
If baby 3 is a girl, she will be a little sister to:
[name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Michael[/name_u]
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f]
We love their names!
For completeness, if baby 3 is a boy, he will have his sister’s alternative name and be:
[name_m]Inigo[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
- which we are totally in love with, although my lovely husband has been mooting some other middle names, but I am really 99.9% sure on this combo!!
So here goes our shortlist for potential baby girl surprise, in order of preference:
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f]
[name_f]Saskia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]
[name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Carys[/name_f] [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]
(And potentially other middle name combinations from this selection)
I would say my favourite so far is [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] or [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], I think it has a similar ring to [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] without repeating too many of the same sounds (I love names beginning with E and V and names that have the same intonation pattern as [name_f]Verity[/name_f] - e.g. [name_f]Amity[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] - but wouldn’t want a name too close phonetically to one of the other children’s names). I like the nicknames [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] and [name_u]Cass[/name_u] although I am a mother stickler for using full names myself! I also love [name_f]Saskia[/name_f] and my only reservation here is the harshness of the /k/ sound. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nickname Sass.
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f] I love but feels a bit more out there, think the link to cosmic and cosmos makes it very hippyish in my mind, [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] is partly in homage to [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls which I discovered and loved this pregnancy but think it’s too similar sounding to [name_u]Elias[/name_u] in a way hence why I prefer it as a middle name. [name_f]Carys[/name_f] is probably a bit too usual for us, the others feels more unique but I do like it - maybe think it’s the least complementary with our sibset though. For history, we have also disregarded [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] which I love but with our surname would give the unfortunate initials of [name_u]BO[/name_u], [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] which would be HO and also [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f] which I adore but husband not sure, spelling an issue and the film we got it from (Song of the Sea) makes my eldest cry and he has specifically vetoed it for being too sad, bless him!
I guess I’m open to totally new suggestions but even more intrigued by people’s thoughts on the above!
Many thanks in advance for any thoughts and ideas!
