Girl sibling name to Isla

[name_f]My[/name_f] partner is [name_f]Indian[/name_f] and I’m white so we want an “east meets west” name for baby girl #2[name_f][/name_f]. Our first daughter is named [name_f]Isla[/name_f] (middle name Devi)

[name_f][/name_f]

The name we’re considering for #2[name_f][/name_f] is [name_f]Indira[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- nick name “Indie”. It would be [name_f]Isla[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] and [name_f]Indie[/name_f][name_f][/name_f].

I love it, honestly. [name_f]Indira[/name_f] is such a beautiful name, and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] + [name_f]Indie[/name_f] are perfect together. They share that first initial and syllable count, yet have their own sounds. I think you’ve knocked it out of the park with this one!

Welcome to NB!

I really like Indira - it’s both pretty & sophisticated, and Indie is fun & cool!

My only small reservation is the repeat letter but they’re different I sounds & syllable counts, which makes it all less obvious/matchy.

Other names I like:

Anika/Annika - Annie
Sarina
Amara
Amaya
Kira

But I think Indira’s great - I also like that it almost sounds like “endearment”. :sparkles:

[name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Indie[/name_f] are sooo pretty together. Matchy but distinct. I’d only pause for thought if you are planning on more siblings, which would present the conundrum of whether to match again or use a different letter.

[name_m]Welcome[/name_m] to Nameberry, and congratulations on baby girl! [name_f][/name_f] I agree with the others—Isla and [name_f]Indie[/name_f] are adorable together, and I love that one would have an [name_f]Indian[/name_f] name up front and the other as a middle. [name_f][/name_f] I think [name_f]Indira[/name_f] fits perfectly for what you’re looking for!

isla and indie are so sweet together! i love indria as a full name as well. they’re both so vibrant and full of life :white_heart::rainbow:

I honestly love it! [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Indira[/name_f] sound so pretty together and the nickname [name_f]Indie[/name_f] is sweet, and bonus gives them a slightly different sound from each other. Echoing previous posters though that the theme might be hard to maintain with more kids, but otherwise I think you’ve got a really great choice!
