Ooh. Very interesting since they’re not names I’d typically see. I like so many of them. Instead of listing them all back to you, I’d say my top five from the list are [name_f]Rin[/name_f], Yuina, [name_f]Ria[/name_f], Mikoto, and [name_f]Yua[/name_f].

Thanks for sharing!

So many lovely names! [name_f]My[/name_f] personal favorites are [name_f]Himari[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Ema[/name_f], Mitsuki, [name_f]Hana[/name_f], [name_f]Miyu[/name_f], [name_f]Sana[/name_f], [name_u]Noa[/name_u], [name_f]Sara[/name_f], Miu, and [name_f]Chiharu[/name_f].

Ooh interesting! I absolutely love; [name_f]Hinata[/name_f], [name_u]Haru[/name_u], [name_f]Chiharu[/name_f] and [name_u]Noa[/name_u]

I love Japanese names.

I love [name_f]Mei[/name_f] and its springtime meaning. One of my favorites.

I love [name_f]Riko[/name_f] because it means “white jasmine”.

[name_f]Miyu[/name_f] is really cute too.

I like [name_f]Sakura[/name_f] and [name_f]Yuna[/name_f], but not so much Yuina.

These lists are always to be taken with a grain of salt because there is usually no way to really tell what the pronunciation is when the name is written in [name_m]Kanji[/name_m]. Completely different names can be spelled with the same [name_m]Kanji[/name_m] because they can each have several different sounds.

[name_f]Ema[/name_f] is probably a separate Japanese name and not a form of [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. In the [name_f]Emi[/name_f], [name_f]Emiko[/name_f], [name_f]Emika[/name_f] group. The Japanese [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] is also completely unrelated from the Biblical [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]. [name_u]Noa[/name_u] also has a different meaning from the [name_f]English[/name_f] [name_u]Noa[/name_u]. In Japanese culture foreign names rarely get adapted or used. The only ones I am not sure about are [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Sara[/name_f]. [name_f]Sara[/name_f] was used a lot in anime and can be spelled in [name_m]Kanji[/name_m] but not sure, it might have been used in Anime originally based on the Hebrew name. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] can be spelled in [name_m]Kanji[/name_m] too and similar names were used in the Edo era but not sure about [name_f]Anna[/name_f] either.

With Japanese names the currently popular ones aren’t really my favorites. I prefer the names of the 80s and 90s and names used before that. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorites:

[name_f]Aya[/name_f]
Ayaka
Tsukiko
[name_f]Akane[/name_f]
[name_f]Midori[/name_f]
Mayumi
[name_u]Aiko[/name_u]
[name_u]Mika[/name_u]
[name_f]Chihiro[/name_f]

The new ones are lovely too but many just seem to combine pleasant sounds and have two syllables and end in -a just as what is common pretty much everywhere (Mia, [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Ava[/name_f], Clara) so I don’t find this list as exciting.

Thanks for posting! It was interesting.
