We currently have [name]Lilla[/name] [name]Clare[/name] and [name]Vivienne[/name] [name]Grace[/name] nn [name]Vivi[/name] and we were planning on naming a third girl [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Kate[/name] but since the newest Kardashian baby was named [name]Penelope[/name] I expect it to shoot up in popularity and we don’t want a super popular name. So we are looking for some suggestions. We like [name]Talullah[/name] but I am worried about nn starting with L since we already have an L with [name]Lilla[/name]. [name]Lilla[/name], [name]Vivi[/name] and [name]Lulu[/name] for example and I don’t think we would call her Talu or [name]Tally[/name] but [name]Lu[/name], [name]Lula[/name] or [name]Lulu[/name]. We also like [name]Scarlett[/name] with the nn [name]Tess[/name], we actually prefer [name]Charlotte[/name] but it is also too popular. Is there any way that [name]Tess[/name] could be a nn for [name]Talullah[/name]? It seems like a stretch. So our potential girls name list looks like

I like [name]Scarlett[/name] but I don’t understand how you’re getting [name]Tess[/name] from [name]Scarlett[/name]. I love the nn [name]Tess[/name], but from [name]Teresa[/name] or [name]Esther[/name] or [name]Anastasia[/name] even.
[name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name] is also beautiful.
Honestly though I think you should stick with [name]Penelope[/name]. It’s such a unique name that I don’t think it’s something a lot of people will use. [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] are going to be far higher on the popularity list.
When it comes to popularity, [name]Charlotte[/name] is the only one that feels more popular than the rest. I think of all of these names as somewhat popular ir climbing steadily.
[name]Tess[/name] doesn’t feel like a natural nn for [name]Scarlett[/name] to me.
[name]Charlotte[/name] fits well with [name]Lilla[/name] & [name]Vivian[/name] imo.
[name]Tess[/name] doesn’t feel natural for [name]Tallulah[/name] (even less natural than [name]Scarlet[/name]…[name]Lu[/name]/[name]Lulu[/name]/[name]Lula[/name] come so naturally, [name]Scarlet[/name]'s lack of nn make [name]Tess[/name] sort of work, I just feel like you will kind of have to enforce the nickname which I would never want to deal with personally)
[name]Penelope[/name] probably will climb. I do think [name]Eleanor[/name] is popular here in [name]Brooklyn[/name].
Why not [name]Eleanore[/name] [name]Faye[/name]?
kala_way - We thought [name]Tess[/name] because it’s sounds similar to S which is what [name]Scarlett[/name] starts with which I would think is closer than [name]Anastasia[/name], have you heard that as nn before?
taz - I also love [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Faye[/name] but again dh isn’t so keen on [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] was our second contender because we do think it fits well but again the popularity of it is worrisome.
Any suggestions of news names would also be great.

[name]Charlotte[/name]'s really common and currently really trendy so I wouldn’t use it, and [name]Penelope[/name] was already rising in popularity before KK used it and it’s already a common name so I personally wouldn’t use [name]Penelope[/name] either. Off your list I like [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Faye[/name]! and I don’t like the name [name]Eleanor[/name] but [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name] is a pretty combo
I don’t really pay too much attention to the Kardashians, but I don’t know if one of them being named [name]Penelope[/name] is enough to really cause a spike in that names popularity. I agree with kala way that your other names, with the exception of [name]Tallulah[/name], are going to be more popular than [name]Penelope[/name]. Also, I really live the nn [name]Nell[/name] for [name]Penelope[/name], which is sort of similar in feel to [name]Tess[/name].
What if you did something like [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Jess[/name], nn [name]Tess[/name]?
I’d stick with [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Kate[/name] if you love it. [name]Brad[/name] and [name]Angelina[/name] have a [name]Vivienne[/name], and while i’m sure it’s gotten more popular since then, its still a special name; i’d say the same about the Kardashians and their choices. I also think it’s less “common” than your other ideas, even though they’re all beautiful.
I think [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]June[/name] is the best option. [name]Lilla[/name], [name]Vivi[/name] and [name]Ellie[/name] would make great sisters, but [name]Eleanor[/name] is also a beautiful, classic name that she can use as an adult when she wants to be seen as a professional.
