We want to name our next child after my grandmother and her name was [name_f]Inez[/name_f]. We already have a boy name picked out, but haven’t found a girl name we like. We are thinking either a name starting with I or something with a similar meaning to [name_f]Inez[/name_f].
[name_f]Inez[/name_f] is the Spanish variation of [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], so you could use that! I don’t really know your name taste so I’m going strictly off of name meanings below ([name_f]Inez[/name_f] means pure or virginal.)
Other names with the same/similar meaning:
[name_f]Adara[/name_f]
[name_f]Zakia[/name_f]
[name_f]Candace[/name_f]
[name_u]Wynn[/name_u]
[name_f]Kasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Virginia[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]/[name_f]Concetta[/name_f]
Kyomi
[name_f]Vesta[/name_f]
[name_f]Glenys[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Inez[/name_f]! I prefer that to any of the alternatives mentioned so far (though lots of great suggestions above).
[name_m]How[/name_m] about playing about with the letters a bit? [name_f]Inez[/name_f] backwards is Zeni — how about something like [name_f]Zenia[/name_f] or [name_f]Zena[/name_f]?
I was thinking along the same lines as the previous poster: [name_f]Zenia[/name_f] or even [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] would be a nice way to honor [name_f]Inez[/name_f]. Generally I like keeping honor names unchanged, and if it were for a middle name I’d leave it [name_f]Inez[/name_f]. But it wouldn’t be my preference as a first name and [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] and [name_f]Zenia[/name_f] are so lovely
Honestly I really like the name [name_f]Inez[/name_f]. From where I’m from it’s unheard of, which I find very refreshing. It’s a very lovely name too, which ages well.
