Girl's Names Galore

I don’t really have a specific name style, which results with me coming up with a mishmash of names:

[name]Stella[/name] [name]Luna[/name]: I absolutely adore this name with all my heart, but is it too associated with the bat story?
[name]Clementine[/name]: this is my favorite girl’s name of all time, but many people think it’s strange. However, I love it. Opinions?
[name]Ophelia[/name]: the name is beautiful, but I fear the tragic Shakespearean character might made this a hard name to carry.
Roo: This, of course, would be a nickname. The only thing is, I don’t know what it would be a nickname FOR. I’m having the same issue with [name]Pip[/name].
[name]Anastasia[/name]: I think this is a beautiful name, but I don’t want it shortened to [name]Anna[/name]. Is that bound to happen, or is it avoidable?
[name]Evaline[/name]: Pronounced [name]Ava[/name] and line, is it condemned to being perpetually mispronounced as [name]Evelyn[/name]?
[name]Ursula[/name]: call me crazy, but I think this is an adorable name. Too much linkage with the sea witch, though?
[name]Capucine[/name]: I’d probably call her Capu.
[name]Arianna[/name]: I just think this name is beautiful.
[name]Tess[/name]: Again, I think this is a fantastic name.
[name]Agatha[/name]: I think this is adorable, especially nicknamed [name]Aggie[/name], but is it a bit harsh for a toddler to be called ‘[name]Agatha[/name]’?
[name]Matilda[/name]: too [name]Roald[/name] Dahl?
[name]Sawyer[/name]: I love this name for a little girl, but does it channel too much [name]Tom[/name]?
[name]Hazel[/name]: I love this name.
[name]Liesl[/name]: Is this name too harsh?
[name]Effie[/name]: I think this is adorable.
[name]Maisie[/name]: Too much like [name]Maisy[/name] the Mouse?
[name]Daisy[/name]: I [name]ADORE[/name] [name]Daisy[/name] I think it’s so cute. [name]Do[/name] you automatically think [name]Buchanan[/name] or Duck, however?

[name]Stella[/name] [name]Luna[/name]: Yes, it’s too associated with the bat story to work as a combo. [name]Estella[/name] [name]Luna[/name] or [name]Estrella[/name] [name]Luna[/name] might work?
[name]Clementine[/name]: It’s a daring choice. I think it’s sweet & has southern charm like [name]Magnolia[/name]. The “oh my darling” thing could get old.
[name]Ophelia[/name]: I think it’s a little tragic. But I’ve met plenty of little Juliets.
Roo= [name]Rose[/name], [name]Rosemary[/name], [name]Rosa[/name], [name]Ramona[/name]. [name]Pip[/name]= [name]Philipa[/name], [name]Patricia[/name], [name]Piper[/name].
[name]Anastasia[/name]: I know one called [name]Stasia[/name] (Stay-jza) almost exclusively. Longer names do tend to get shortened.
[name]Evaline[/name]: dislike, confusing pronunciation
[name]Ursula[/name]: I also love it, but the association is strong.
[name]Capucine[/name]: I think of coffee
[name]Arianna[/name]: It’s ok
[name]Tess[/name]: Cute, I think it’s nicknamey though
[name]Agatha[/name]: I actually love this. I think it’s fresh again and great for a kid!
[name]Matilda[/name]: Not too associated to the book, movie, play…I know several.
[name]Sawyer[/name]: very boyish
[name]Hazel[/name]: I love this name.
[name]Liesl[/name]: very SOund of [name]Music[/name]
[name]Effie[/name]: nicknamey
[name]Maisie[/name]: nicknamey
[name]Daisy[/name]: I do think of [name]Buchanan[/name]. I could see this name booming this year.

[name]Stella[/name] [name]Luna[/name]: [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Luna[/name] are both beautiful names but [name]Stella[/name] [name]Luna[/name] is the bat.
[name]Clementine[/name]: Cute, darling, sweet! Sounds perfect for you.
[name]Ophelia[/name]: Beautiful and easier to carry than the equally lovely [name]Desdemona[/name].
Roo: That’s a hard one…
[name]Anastasia[/name]: I think it could be also shortened to [name]Annie[/name], [name]Anya[/name], [name]Stacy[/name], [name]Tracy[/name]…
[name]Evaline[/name]: Yes, it would be mispronounced and misspelled but I don’t think as [name]Evelyn[/name].
[name]Ursula[/name]: I think it’s beautiful.
[name]Capucine[/name]: I thought this was cappuccino at first glance.
[name]Arianna[/name]: lovely.
[name]Tess[/name]: It is fantastic. I know a great [name]Tess[/name]!
[name]Agatha[/name]: not my style.
[name]Matilda[/name]: Yes Dahl but that’s a good thing.
[name]Sawyer[/name]: I prefer it for a boy.
[name]Hazel[/name]: Nice.
[name]Liesl[/name]: Very soft.
[name]Effie[/name]: Hunger Games.
[name]Maisie[/name]: [name]Daisy[/name]-Head [name]Maisie[/name].
[name]Daisy[/name]: Very sweet!

[name]Stella[/name] [name]Luna[/name]: I don’t personally think this flows all that well–it’s a bit clunky when said aloud. You may like [name]Stella[/name] [name]Maris[/name] (“sea-star,” another name for the [name]North[/name] [name]Star[/name]) or [name]Stella[/name] [name]Rosa[/name].

[name]Clementine[/name]: I don’t think this is strange at all. I see it brought up quite a bit on here. I find it dainty and sweet.

[name]Ophelia[/name]: I have never liked how this name has the sounds “feel ya.” I think [name]Ophelia[/name] is wearable despite the [name]Shakespeare[/name] character, but I recommend the name [name]Oriana[/name].

Roo: You could name a child [name]Roux[/name] (“roo”), the French word for red (which is in the Nameberry database) or [name]Jerusha[/name] or Jerusalem to get to Roo. I adore [name]Jerusha[/name], an old Biblical name that was used in eighteenth-century [name]America[/name].

[name]Anastasia[/name]: If you call her [name]Stacia[/name] or [name]Stacey[/name], I think you will be able to avoid [name]Anna[/name]/[name]Ana[/name].

[name]Evaline[/name]: I had no idea how to pronounce this until reading your description. I don’t think you or a daughter would want to deal with that for the rest of your lives. You may like [name]Emmaline[/name] or Avaline.

[name]Ursula[/name]: I don’t know how popular the old classic Disney movies are among the upcoming generation. But if by chance they do all still watch The [name]Little[/name] Mermaid, every child will think of that witch upon meeting your daughter on the first day of school. You may like the similar name [name]Ursa[/name].

[name]Capucine[/name]: Sounds like cappuccino. You may like [name]Capitola[/name]/Capitolia or [name]Caprice[/name].

[name]Arianna[/name]: I find all of the Ar- names a bit trendy because of [name]Arabelle[/name].

[name]Tess[/name]: [name]Tess[/name] is cute. It’s simplicity is stunning.

[name]Agatha[/name]: I think a toddler could pull it off, but the nickname [name]Aggie[/name] is also a cute option with this name. I like it.

[name]Matilda[/name]: I think [name]Matilda[/name] is so quirky and spunky and fun!

[name]Sawyer[/name]: Too boyish for my liking, and too trendy at that.

[name]Hazel[/name]: I really like it. It sounds sweet, a la hazlenut.

[name]Liesl[/name]: I once saw the spelling [name]Liesel[/name], which made the name much more lovable.

[name]Effie[/name]: I think it’s cute too, but it sounds like a euphamism for the F-word. Maybe [name]Essie[/name] or [name]Eppie[/name]? ([name]Eppie[/name] is featured in the classic novel [name]Silas[/name] Marner.)

[name]Maisie[/name]: Who is [name]Maisie[/name] the Mouse? I like [name]Maizie[/name] (this spelling) and have it on my list. I think it’s a fun name. You may also like [name]Mamie[/name].

[name]Daisy[/name]: I like [name]Daisy[/name]. It’s cheerful and playful.
