On my own long-list, I have:
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]June[/name]
[name]Elisabeth[/name]
[name]Meredith[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Elowen[/name]
[name]Edith[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Kathryn[/name]
…I guess that’s not that many! I think I have too many names ending in -a on my long-list right now.
well I wouldn’t consider [name]Madeline[/name], [name]Anabelle[/name], [name]Jennifer[/name] or [name]Isabelle[/name] to be “uncommon” at all, but I get what you’re meaning.
Yellow already mentioned my sister’s name, [name]Ayelet[/name] which crossed my mind, so I can only add my own middle - [name]Yael[/name]. Oh, and
[name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Judith[/name]
[name]Rachel[/name]
[name]Sharon[/name]
[name]Shulamit[/name]
when it comes to Jewish ones. And [name]Tal[/name] - more uncommon, but I love it.
Some of my favourites:
[name]Rosamund[/name]
[name]Katharine[/name] - a favourite spelling for me.
[name]Esther[/name], [name]Tamar[/name], [name]Briar[/name], [name]Vesper[/name] - love these, wasn’t sure if 2 syllables counted as long enough.
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Gillian[/name] (I also like [name]Lillian[/name] but its not uncommon)
[name]Marguerite[/name]
[name]Felicienne[/name]
[name]Zephirine[/name]
[name]Meredith[/name]
Kinneret
[name]Vivien[/name]
[name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Seraphine[/name]
