Girly form of Richard?

In my family it is tradition to give a family name as a middle name. For my 3rd child I would like to honor my late grandfather whose name was [name]Richard[/name] [name]George[/name]. If I have a boy the middle name will be [name]Richard[/name] no matter what. If I have a girl I could do Gerogia, which I love. However, [name]Richard[/name] also happens to be my father-in-law and brother-in-law’s names, so if I can girlify [name]Richard[/name], it will be a family name from both sides.

Any suggestions for a girly form of [name]Richard[/name] for a middle name (and I’m not naming my little girl [name]Dick[/name], so don’t even suggest it)? [name]Ricki[/name] was the only thing I could come up with and I’m not crazy about it. My [name]BIL[/name] goes by [name]Ricki[/name], but my grandfather was [name]Dick[/name] or [name]Richard[/name] and my FIL goes by [name]Dick[/name]. First names are still up in the air but front runners are [name]Lennon[/name], [name]Seren[/name] (pronounced SAIR-en), [name]Bellamy[/name], [name]Rory[/name] and [name]Harper[/name].

These are the only female versions of the name [name]Richard[/name] that I am aware of. They may look unusual but all of them are legitimate.

Richenza (my fave)
Richenda
[name]Ricarda[/name]

I’ve done some investigating through my baby name books and have come up with some more names that would work.

Richilda
Richmal
Richmay
Richmond (perhaps too masculine with your chosen first names)

[name]Rachel[/name]
[name]Richelle[/name]/[name]Rachelle[/name]
[name]Raquel[/name]
[name]Ricki[/name]/[name]Ricci[/name]
[name]Rica[/name]/[name]Ricca[/name]

Go with [name]Georgia[/name] and save [name]Richard[/name] for a boy

The first name that came to my mind was [name]Richelle[/name]-
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Richelle[/name]- I think this sounds sooo good!

Lucystone - [name]Bobby[/name] Sparklefritz made me LOL!

Ooh I like [name]Rachel[/name] and [name]Richelle[/name]/[name]Rachelle[/name] for a mn honoring [name]Richard[/name]. You could even consider leaving it [name]Richard[/name] since its going in the middle…

I don’t know any girl versions of [name]Richard[/name]…but I went to school with a girl named [name]Rikki[/name].
I’d save [name]Richard[/name] for a boy and just use [name]Georgia[/name] for a girl.

[name]Richelle[/name] was my first thought.

[name]Raquel[/name] isn’t really a form of [name]Richard[/name] but it does alliterate nicely.

Great suggestions, thanks. I think I am leaning toward [name]Georgia[/name]. [name]Seren[/name] [name]Georgia[/name], Reni for short?

I immediately thought of [name]Erica[/name] (maybe because others mentioned [name]Rikki[/name]?). Interestingly enough, they have very similar meanings: [name]Richard[/name] = dominant ruler and [name]Erica[/name] = eternal ruler.

I agree with others, I think [name]Georgia[/name] is a very lovely choice. [name]Just[/name] thought I’d share another [name]Richard[/name]-ish option!
