Your opinions on C names???

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]. 2 of my favourite names

I don’t tend to have a reason for liking a name, I just do:

[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f]
[name_f]Cressida[/name_f]

2 or 3 years ago I’d have had a bucket load to tell to you! These days I’m a lot more selective and realistic as the time gets closer for me to actually have kids, so now the only ones on my list are:

[name_f]Cerys[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]

Although I also love [name_f]Camilla[/name_f], [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f].
No particular reason, they’re just nice.

You mentioned 4 of my favourites! I’d just add [name_f]Colette[/name_f] and [name_f]Clover[/name_f] as well.

[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]… I really like the nn [name_u]Cass[/name_u] (or [name_f]Cassie[/name_f]), and the Greek mythology connection is intriguing.
[name_f]Calla[/name_f]: underused and beautiful
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]: I like either this version or [name_f]Carolina[/name_f], and the nn [name_f]Carrie[/name_f]
[name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]: A classic that I wish would get a revival soon. Not so keen on the nn [name_f]Cindi[/name_f], though
[name_f]Constance[/name_f]: Another name I’d like to see revived
[name_f]Christelle[/name_f]: a nice, classic name that’s a great alternative to the dated [name_f]Krystal[/name_f]
[name_f]Chantal[/name_f]: a classic [name_m]French[/name_m] name
[name_f]Clarice[/name_f]: I wish everyone would forget [name_f]Silence[/name_f] of the Lambs and revive this classic!
[name_f]Claudine[/name_f]: This one might sound a little clunky to some people, but I have really positive associations to it
[name_f]Claudette[/name_f]: A cute name
[name_f]Celestine[/name_f]: Maybe a little too elaborate for some tastes
[name_f]Clemence[/name_f]: [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] and I think hip, these days

I like a lot of boy names that start with c:
[name_m]Conrad[/name_m]
[name_m]Caden[/name_m]
[name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_m]Cullen[/name_m]
[name_u]Carter[/name_u]
[name_u]Chase[/name_u].
The only c name i like for a girl is [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

My favorites:

[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] - One of my longest name loves. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love the name [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]. Something about it just makes me so happy!
[name_f]Cosima[/name_f] - Fell in love at first sight with this one, it’s just so gorgeous, unique and sophisticated! In recent years, my obsession with Orphan [name_m]Black[/name_m] (which I started watching specifically because it had a character named [name_f]Cosima[/name_f]) hasn’t helped.
[name_f]Celia[/name_f] - I love how sleek and melodious this one is, and it has a great meaning. Plus, I adore the character in As You Like It (Shakespearean ties are always a huge plus for me.)
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] the [name_u]Neil[/name_u] Gaiman book and character, and everything she stands for. The movie adaptation includes an adorable [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] song and has some great commentary about names, too. [name_m]Even[/name_m] without the book, I’d love the sound of [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], and the way it adds some spirit to the already-lovely [name_f]Cora[/name_f].

I also really like Cassilda, [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], and [name_m]Cael[/name_m] and [name_u]Cal[/name_u] for boys.

[name_f]Constance[/name_f]- A beautiful family name that has been used numerous times throughout the generations, but very rarely as a first name. I love the nn [name_u]Connie[/name_u] too (it’s so cheery and friendly), and [name_f]Constance[/name_f] is definitely in my top 10. Most recently, it was the middle name of my great grandmother, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Constance[/name_f] who by all accounts was a truly remarkable woman. [name_f]Virtue[/name_f] names (usually as middles) are a staple in my family and I would love to continue that tradition.

[name_f]Camellia[/name_f]- Another beautiful family name, although it has only been used as a middle name by a few people in my family tree. I think it is too gorgeous to stay that way, and this name is definitely in my top 10. [name_f]Camellia[/name_f]'s are also one of my dad’s favourite flowers (his favourites are camellia’s, magnolia’s, gardenia’s, azalea’s, daffodil’s and snowdrop’s), as well as one of mine. I love the nn [name_u]Cam[/name_u] or [name_f]Cami[/name_f], much like [name_u]Connie[/name_u], it is so friendly and welcoming.

[name_f]Celia[/name_f]- The name of one of my cows- I didn’t pick it, but I think it is a fantastic name. I love the meaning too- it is also a family name (but you have to go quite far back, still :)).

[name_f]Claudette[/name_f]- I don’t like the meaning, but it is a super spunky name, and the song [name_f]Claudette[/name_f] (the [name_u]Everly[/name_u] Brothers, written by [name_u]Roy[/name_u] Orbison- I love his version too) only adds to its charm.

[name_f]Corinne[/name_f]- Both elegant and laid back. I love the sleek [name_m]French[/name_m] imagery mixed with the vocals of [name_f]Corinne[/name_f] [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] [name_u]Rae[/name_u].

[name_u]Christy[/name_u]- One of my dad’s middle names is [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], and I think this name is perennially charming and happy. It’s really really pretty too.

I adore:
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]

My top three C names are [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], [name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f] & [name_f]Cosima[/name_f], because they all have such a brilliant musical and somewhat mysterious sound to them, and have a good punch of quirkiness. I also like [name_f]Capucine[/name_f], [name_f]Catalina[/name_f], [name_f]Clio[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], Caspia, [name_f]Carmilla[/name_f], [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Carys[/name_f], [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f], [name_f]Ceres[/name_f] & Chrysanthe.

[name_u]Carmen[/name_u], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_f]Caterina[/name_f] & [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]

[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] is my absolute favourite boys name of all time, so I’ve got loads of reasons why I love it so much; as in a huge paragraph’s worth. The main ones are probably just the amazing sound, and I love the way it looks, and the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] association, which brings up some really good memories.

[name_m]Cyril[/name_m] is pretty much the only other C name on my boys list, but I fell in love with it after to listening to a tape of The Five Children and It many many times as a child, and I love the fact it’s such a nice, but underused vintage boys name.

[name_f]Clara[/name_f] (pn. Clah-ruh, and only Clah-ruh)- This one’s due almost completely to [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_m]Oswald[/name_m] from [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who (one of my favourite shows if you can’t tell), but I love the vintage-ness of it, and the sound, although I really don’t like the alternative pronunciation.

[name_f]Clio[/name_f]- Name of the [name_f]Muse[/name_f] of history in Greek mythology (which is why I prefer this spelling to [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]). I love history. Awesome sound. Not much else to say. :stuck_out_tongue:

[name_f]Constance[/name_f]- Fell in love with this after watching the Musketeers, and because of a book I read. Both characters were really feisty, and adventurous, and I loved both of their personalities, so I really started to crush on [name_f]Constance[/name_f].

[name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] the sound, and the meaning.

[name_f]Cypress[/name_f]- Fells so exotic, and tropical, probably because it sounds like [name_m]Cyprus[/name_m]. It definitely comes across as gentle, and beautiful.

[name_f]Cerelia[/name_f]- I love the meaning, and it’s energetic and friendly.

Calluna- At first I really loved this because it’s got ‘[name_f]Luna[/name_f]’ in it, but apart from that, it sounds so lovely, and it’s a really unusual nature name.

[name_f]Celia[/name_f]/Caelia- [name_m]Just[/name_m] added this in for a friend whose fave name is [name_f]Celia[/name_f] (or it was since I last checked). She’s a bit obsessed with Latin names, and Astronomy, so [name_f]Celia[/name_f] fits the bill, with its heavenly meaning. :stuck_out_tongue: I really like Caelia too, because of the ae.

I like [name_f]Cara[/name_f] and my OH likes [name_f]Clara[/name_f]

Forgot one!

[name_f]Caja[/name_f]- I love the meaning ‘daisy’, and it’s got a wonderful image (forest, green, slightly wild, and all over the place). I had it on my list for a while, then suddenly I fell in love with it.

For girls, I like:

[name_f]Camellia[/name_f] - I tend to like florals, and camellias are just such perfectly shaped, unreal flowers.
[name_f]Celestine[/name_f] - I like [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] too, but [name_f]Celestine[/name_f] is my favourite of this family. So glittering and star-like.
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] - a girly, lacy name, but rooted in real history.
[name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f] - Mythology name, unexpected sound, and a rhythm I really like.
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] - Utterly impeccable and classic. [name_f]Callie[/name_f] makes a nice nickname. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] could be a cowgirl or a princess. It’s a name that could go anywhere and doesn’t need to be explained. I really like it.
[name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] - relates to orchids, but is a much nicer name than [name_f]Orchid[/name_f]. I find it exotic and attractive.
[name_f]Caitlin[/name_f] - Yeah, abused and oft-mispelled, but I love [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f]. It’s got a sweet yet tailored feel, and isn’t too frilly.
[name_u]Clare[/name_u] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] - so simple, but not too sharp. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a completely classic name that stands alone slim and strong at one syllable. I slightly prefer [name_u]Clare[/name_u], but [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is the more popular spelling.
[name_f]Catriona[/name_f] - Irish form of [name_f]Katrina[/name_f]. I really love this one. It’s a bit fairytale looking to me, yet has a familar sound. Hasn’t been beat half to death like poor [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f].
Chaia - doesn’t have a C sound, so maybe this is cheating. I like it though.
[name_f]Cerise[/name_f] - I would never [name_u]EVER[/name_u] name a daughter [name_f]Cherry[/name_f], but [name_f]Cerise[/name_f] has such an appealing sound and the image of spring blossoms and that rich vibrant colour appeal.
[name_f]Clover[/name_f] - Perky, and maybe slightly too-cute, but I like its springtime effect.
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f] - Shimmering underwater jewel name for me.
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - vibrant, peridot green, springtime name.
Cephora - form of [name_f]Sephora[/name_f], and Tzippora. Means bird. I like it. Misses the makeup connotation of [name_f]Sephora[/name_f], which is all to the good.
Cleome - a flower name that I am the only living fan of, lol. But it’s a very pretty cottage flower.

Boys I like:
[name_u]Carmine[/name_u] - A strong colour name, retro Italian, very delicious in a Sinatra-era way.
[name_u]Carmel[/name_u] - Probably only as a middle. car-[name_u]MEL[/name_u]. [name_m]Rich[/name_m] Biblical possibility.
[name_m]Cassiel[/name_m] - I love it’s angelic meaning.
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] - Biblical name, strong, appealing.
[name_m]Cassius[/name_m] - Strong, unexpected. I only like this said cash-us. I would call him [name_m]Cash[/name_m] for short.
[name_m]Clay[/name_m] - a bit nature-y, a bit spiritual.
[name_m]Cillian[/name_m] - Liltingly Irish.
[name_u]Corbin[/name_u] and Corvid - Ravens mean a lot to me personally. They’re so clever and tied up with so much magic.
[name_u]Casey[/name_u] - underrated for a boy, [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
Chanan - no one would say this right, but I like it a lot. Family name for me.

[name_f]Carys[/name_f] would be my #1 ‘C’ name. I love the meaning, the sound and that it is unique yet not too weird (although I do like some ‘weird’ names lol).

[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Clarisse[/name_f]
[name_f]Constance[/name_f]

Couple boys names I like are:
[name_u]Cruz[/name_u]
[name_u]Carson[/name_u]
[name_u]Curtis[/name_u]
[name_m]Clayton[/name_m]

I can’t believe how many of you like [name_f]Constance[/name_f]! That is my name and I go by [name_u]Connie[/name_u]. It is VERY rare that anyone ever compliments my name. I usually get teased about it. Not in a horrible way - people just think it sounds royal or something and I am not like that at all. I am more fun, outgoing and loud… I like it though!

My favorites:

[name_f]Carys[/name_f]
[name_f]Calista[/name_f]
[name_f]Cambrie[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]

[name_u]Camden[/name_u]
[name_m]Carver[/name_m]
[name_u]Cameron[/name_u]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m]
[name_m]Clayton[/name_m]
[name_u]Carson[/name_u]
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m]
[name_u]Colby[/name_u]
[name_m]Cash[/name_m]
[name_m]Crew[/name_m]
[name_m]Cord[/name_m]
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m]

[name_m]Favorite[/name_m] C names… mine are [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_u]Claude[/name_u]. I consider using them for any future kids - [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] as first and [name_u]Claude[/name_u] as a middle for a boy. Both have art connotations for me - [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is a book character and [name_u]Claude[/name_u]'s namesake is the obvious [name_f]Monet[/name_f], who’s my favorite painter. Also I’d like to use “C” name to honor my mom’s grandmother

PS hey, I like [name_f]Constance[/name_f] a lot, too! My father wanted to name me Konstancja, which is a variation of [name_f]Constance[/name_f]
