[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
I’m 39 & my name obsession began at about 13.
Here are my thoughts on your lists:
[name_f]Ariana[/name_f]- Ari-my little boy kitty is named [name_u]Ari[/name_u], so I don’t love it for a girl. But I’m not super opposed to it either. [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] sounds pretty, but it has a lot of different ways to pronounce it, which is kind of a pain. It’s also a tad trendy in my opinion. I’d prefer [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] (said 'Are-ee-elle) nn [name_u]Ari[/name_u].
[name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f]- [name_f]Bel[/name_f], [name_f]Bella[/name_f], [name_f]Trixie[/name_f], Bex-This is fun, and not a name I see on too many lists. Sometimes it feels too heavy, but sometimes it feels pixie-ish. It’s certainly unique but not complicated, which I like. I love the nn [name_f]Bella[/name_f] best, but also think [name_f]Bess[/name_f] and [name_f]Bette[/name_f] could work.
[name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f]- Bronnie, [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f], would [name_f]Brynne[/name_f] work?-Sure, [name_f]Brynne[/name_f] works! I love love [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f] though the most. If we’re being really picky, I’d change this to [name_f]Branwen[/name_f]. Either way, it reminds me a bit too much of brownies (which are delicious, but I don’t like them in a name!), but it’s an interesting choice.
Brynne/Brinn- Most people seemed to like [name_f]Brynne[/name_f] on a poll I did-I prefer [name_f]Brynne[/name_f], but kind of like the simple [name_u]Bryn[/name_u] best. Maybe [name_f]Brynn[/name_f]? I don’t know. It’s not my cup of tea, but it’s perfectly nice.
[name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]- Caro-This is a name that I don’t think that I like, because it just feels dated. But I came across a toddler named this recently, and was elated! [name_m]Just[/name_m] because it was so unexpected. I don’t love the way [name_u]Caro[/name_u] sounds; prefer the full name. But maybe you like [name_f]Lynnie[/name_f] as a nn?
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]- [name_f]Cia[/name_f], [name_f]Cece[/name_f], Celia-I kind of want it to be spelled [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], but really smart & lovely none the less. I like the nn [name_f]Celie[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Celia[/name_f], but like it better as a full name.
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]- [name_u]Cory[/name_u], [name_f]Coral[/name_f], Cora-Hm. I like [name_f]Cora[/name_f], but not [name_u]Cory[/name_u]. [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] is neat, but I like it more in theory than saying it out loud. Prefer [name_f]Coraline[/name_f].
[name_f]Ione[/name_f]- Nonie-Nonie is darling. I don’t love the sound of [name_f]Ione[/name_f], but it’s really different.
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f]- [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], Sady-It’s not my favorite [name_u]Isa[/name_u] name, but it’s not bad. I think it’s just kind of bulky sounding. [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] is cute. I also like the nn [name_f]Idgie[/name_f].
Jada-Nothing unpleasant about it. I think it just sounds too modern for me.
[name_f]Julianna[/name_f], [name_u]Julianne[/name_u]- Berries preferred [name_f]Julianna[/name_f] by just a couple votes, need nn-Yeah, I like [name_f]Julianna[/name_f] more. Although I really like [name_f]Giuliana[/name_f], but it’s a bit fancy. What about the nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f]?
[name_f]Kateri[/name_f]- [name_f]Kat[/name_f], [name_f]Katie[/name_f], Teri-I don’t love the way this one looks or sounds; not sure why. I love the idea of the nn [name_u]Kit[/name_u] though, if you’re into that.
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]- [name_f]Liv[/name_f], Livvy-I like the idea of the nn [name_f]Livy[/name_f] (just one ‘v’ though ) a lot, but [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] isn’t my favorite.
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]- [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], many say loo-SEE-uh, I also like loo-chee-uh and LOO-sha-Really pretty & romantic, but not too frilly. I like Loo-see-uh pronunciation, but find the whole three pronunciation thing way too much of a headache. [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is sweet. Maybe you like other [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] options? So many good ones! [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Eloisa[/name_f], [name_f]Luciana[/name_f], [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f], [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_u]Louise[/name_u], [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Luisa[/name_f], [name_f]Luella[/name_f], [name_u]Laurel[/name_u], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] or [name_f]Tallula[/name_f].
[name_f]Raphaela[/name_f]- Rae-That’s kind of neat. It’s not a name that I think about much, but it’s different and the nn [name_u]Rae[/name_u] feels obvious but creative at the same time.
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u]- Wave-I think that I’d be kind of excited to meet a person named [name_u]Wave[/name_u], but I don’t know if I can get into [name_u]Waverly[/name_u].
:
[name_f]Bellarosa[/name_f]- On a poll, [name_f]Bellatrix[/name_f] won over this by just a hair-Hm. This feels too smush for me, but not awful.
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]- CASH-uh pronunciation, not three syllables. I liked [name_f]Kassia[/name_f] too, like the saint-I prefer Cass-ee-uh, but not my favorite either way.
[name_f]Bianka[/name_f]- nn Bia-That’s kind of different without being complicated. A name that I should like, but can’t get into. I think that [name_f]Bianca[/name_f] looks prettier though.
Josephine-I love love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. So smart and elegant and a little sassy. I don’t like any of the nns for it though, so I keep it off my list. Except maybe [name_f]Posy[/name_f] is kind of cute.
[name_f]Isabeau[/name_f]- This might be best for the middle, because Isabelle.-Yeah, could get mistaken for [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] a lot. Which I personally prefer. But if you’re looking for an unique nn, do you like Ibbi?
[name_f]Antonia[/name_f]- Need a good nn-Very pretty. I love the nns [name_f]Ani[/name_f] or [name_f]Ana[/name_f], but what about Nonie?!
[name_f]Theodosia[/name_f]- would [name_f]Zosia[/name_f] (ZOH-shuh) work as a nn?-Zosia works. But I much prefer [name_f]Thea[/name_f].
Valerie-That’s cute. A bit dated, but so cheerful that I like it anyway.
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] my rambling helps.
