i am back again with my quest to find the perfect middle name for athena. so far, my forerunner is athena rosalind but my love for her has been fading. i am finding an alternative to rosalind, as sweet as she may be, that i love wholeheartedly.
following are some names that i have considered in the past/am considering at the moment, along with the precise reason of why i love them (to give you an idea):
-
athena rosalind - rosalind appears in william shakespeareâs as you like it and edmund spenserâs the shepheardes calendar. the shakespearean character also inspired the name of uranusâs moon. also a nod to rosalind franklin, who discovered the molecular structure of dna.
-
athena maeve - queen of connacht in irish myth. both names are the epitome of âdivine feminineâ.
-
athena primrose - in the victorian flower language, primrose means âi canât live without you.â it is one of the first spring flowers to bloom, and symbolises innocence, youth & new beginnings.
-
athena seren - seren is welsh for âstarâ. i love astronomy and would want something that is related to it as well.
-
athena belphoebe - belphoebe appears in edmund spenserâs the faerie queene as a representation of queen elizabeth i.
-
athena esmeray - esmeray means âdark moonâ in turkish. i love the vibes of the name together with athena.
-
athena saffron - saffron is refined, classy, carefree and fun to me, all at the same time. it is also the name of one of the most expensive spices in the world.
-
athena morrigan - the mythological morrigan was the ancient goddess of war, often symbolised by a crow.
-
athena juliet - juliet was a character in shakespeareâs romeo & juliet.
so, berries, based on the names i already love with athena, what other names would you suggest to me? thank you!
love, scarlet
